Hello! I am iron610, the new director appointed after Flameeagle25, is forced to retire from New Valver Heroes and Smash after the Neo fiasco. I am one of the many deeply disappointed, but as Flameeagle's right hand man in the development process, I understood that I must not let the blue flames of passion die out. I took the memo from retired director Flameeagle25 on the future direction of the New Valver Heroes series and I gave it a careful reading. Unfortunately for him, I only intended to frame the memo and hang it on my wall. I knew I could not match flameeagle25 with NVH proper and as a result, I decided to make NVH 4 a Hack n' S/ash with stealth elements, similar to Revengeance. Here's the result: New Valver Heroes 4: The Shadows of Valver. Sorry for the lack of dialogue in this prologue. We'll see the characters start to
Prologue: Shining Power
Heather Shade, otherwise known as Slash, the head of Axel Corp. looked at the production numbers of military robots. It had been ten years. The Cykos had been routed, the Evil Empire demolished, but it didn't matter, production never slowed. Clonk-Class robots guarded the streets in an occupation rivalling that of Whyked. To top that off, rumors had spread about their savior, Alvin, Leader of the New Valver Heroes. Last year, an archaeologist uncovered a book on shining power. The book, called Ars Lucis, was rumored to detail the hazards of Shining Power. Before anyone could interview the poor archaeologist, he dropped off the face of the Earth. The media, headed by Heather's then Jewish wife, Karen Goldberg, forgot the story, and instead repeated the same old pro-Alvin propaganda. Alvin, Leader of the New Valver Heroes, became the next president. Now, some say he even shoots for more.
Alvin, Leader of the New Valver Heroes passed a great many bills to prevent another Great Calamity. He passed the Peaceful Religion Act, allowing his general, Daniel, to snuff out the last of the cultists of Darkness Power once and for all. The Junkyard Safety Act required all possible sources of power and weapons to be destroyed before scrapping. Lastly, the Mechanical Islands Act required all Valverian ships and platforms to be inspected and certified by Sally's Customs Agency. However, even stranger bills had been passed. The Shining Light Act Decree stated that the Shining Cult is to be the official state religion of Valver. The most peculiar of was the Extraordinary Powers Act, a giving Alvin, the Leader of the New Valver Heroes, Dictator-like status in a case of emergency.
Heather Shade, however, did little more than raise an eyebrow and go about managing her company. She was in the military-industrial complex of Valver, and as the saying goes, "If you want peace, prepare for war." Today, however, everything will change. From her tower, Heather saw a fireball rise from the distance. She turned on the news, at the center of the crater, a strangely familiar machine. In a hurry, Heather had little more time than to don her lightest armor and her beam saber before rushing to the scene of the crime. Thus her journey begins…
