Disclaimer: Ok so as much as I would like to own NCIS and it's characters, I don't because otherwise there would be a lot of changes.1) Kate would not have died. 2) Tony and Kate would finally get their act together and start a relationship. 3) Abby and McGee would also start something as would Gibb and Jen.
The story so far…
This is based on the episode where Kate is killed. Instead she lives and someone else is shot.
All she knew was that she heard a gun shot and Tony fell to the ground where he laid motionless. She ran over to him not knowing what to expect.
"Tony, Tony are you ok?" she cried, not knowing if there would be an answer. "Call an ambulance someone!"
"Kate is, is that you?" he said in almost a whisper. "Kate I've been shot, I've been shot in the shoulder Katie."
"I know Tony you'll be alright, the ambulance is on it's way" She said as tears started forming in her eyes.
"I don't know if I'll make it Katie" He replied
"Of course you are Tony, it's only little and you would say you are dying even if you cut yourself." she said trying to make herself believe this was true.
But she knew that the chances of Tony recovering from an injury like his were small.
"I just want you to know if I don't make it that I love you Kate, I have done since I first saw you. I knew you were the one Kate. But I was too stubborn to admit my feelings for you and now it is too late." He said looking deep in to her eyes thinking it would be the last time. Upon hearing this Kate started to cry because she knew that she also was in love, in love with Tony.
"I love you too Tony." she said not being able to hold back the tears.
"Don't cry Katie, I'll be ok. I will always be with you no matter what happens." He said wiping the tears from her eyes. And then they gave into their feelings and kissed not knowing if that would be the last time they would be able to see each other.
After they kissed Kate held Tony in her arms until the ambulance arrived, and as they waited Kate felt Tony slip away into a sleep, unsure if he would wake up. Then finally after what seemed like hours the ambulance arrived to take Tony to the hospital. Kate watched as they did everything they could to get Tony to wake up but it all seemed unsuccessful until one of the paramedics cried "I've got a pulse, but it is very weak." A wave of relief washed over her and it was then that she realised she had been holding her breath, unsure of when that was.
Then the other paramedic asked Kate "Are you his girlfriend?"
Kate stood there for a moment unsure of what to answer "Yes, yes I am." she replied shocked at what her answer was.
"Would you like to come with us?" She asked the stunned Kate who was now starting to go into shock.
"Yes!" she replied and with that she got into the back of the ambulance. As she sat down she saw Gibbs and McGee's worried faces before the paramedic closed the door behind her.
"We'll follow you Kate" said Gibbs as the paramedic shut the door. Then the driver put on the sirens and they started towards the hospital. It was then that Kate heard the 3 worst words she would ever hear "He's stopped breathing!"
