Just a random idea while listening to some country music. this is not Ron's pof on prom night, but more like his life with Kim.

I remember a day in second grade, when it was raining. Kim and I were waiting for the school bus, but we were the first to arrive. While our moms were talking, Kim and I went to play in what was a field with tall grass and this big arch thing. We hid down in the grass and then she whispered to me,
"I saw my mommy and daddy kiss each other last night in the kitchen." She sounded embarrassed but I just smiled. Then she even leaned in closer to me, "Have you ever kissed a girl?"
But I shook my head, "No." But then and idea struck, and I leaned in and kissed her on the cheek, a short but sweet one. I heard her giggle, and I smiled.
Just off of the two-lane where the school bus used to stop
Was a little wooden A-frame with a yellow tin roof top
One day it was raining on this world
She said 'have you ever really, really ever kissed a girl?'
That was the first time I ever kissed somebody, it wasn't a real kiss, but it felt special. It was just a friendship kiss you know. I mean who hasn't kissed their best friend on the cheek? But the moment died down as soon as we got on that bus. We haven't spoke of it since. But I made a promise to myself, to love her even if she doesn't return it.
Baby I'll be your Huckleberry, you don't have to double dare me
If the storm gets wild and scary count on me to be right there
You're so extra ordinary sweet like maraschino cherries
We'll grow up and we'll get married
I'm gonna be your Huckleberry
A couple of weeks later, the fair came. Kim and I grew a lot that year so we were tall enough to ride all the big rides by ourselves. We were just about to leave when we both noticed a big roller coaster that went way up. Kim starred in awe, I was about ready to scream. But she grinned and said, "Come on Ron, lets ride it together." And I must admit, when we touched hands on the rail bar, something clicked. Everything felt peaceful, like it was only us.
Later on that summer we went to the county fair
They had a brand new roller coaster and everyone was scared
It was two bucks to experience the thrill
She said 'come on boy let's get in line I'll ride it if you will'
Baby I'll be your Huckleberry, you don't have to double dare me
If the ride gets wild and scary count on me to be right there
You're so extra ordinary sweet like maraschino cherries
We'll grow up and we'll get married
I'm gonna be your Huckleberry
On our prom night, it happened. We kissed finally, we were together. But I was so nervous. She's pretty and popular, I'm not good-looking and I'm the bottom dweller on the social food chain. But she kissed me romantically, like it was meant to be. We were going to take this relationship seriously, no funny stuff that people do. It was love and friendship. How everyone should love.
One Christmas Day, I found the courage to propose. She accepted. We had a beautiful wedding, soon followed by a mission. We had our first child, a couple years later our second. Kim tells me, when she looks at our daughter, she sees me. And I see her in our son. But she says, no one can replace the real Ron. And I, I smiled.
Baby I'll be your Huckleberry, you don't have to double dare me
If the world gets wild and scary count on me to be right there
You're so extra ordinary sweet like maraschino cherries
We grew up and we got married
Because no one can replace her.
