"You're cheating on me?" Carlisle's voice broke in the wrong place and a tear ran down his face.
"Honey I'm sorry, I didn't mean for you to find out this way," Esme said gently.
"Who is he?"
"What?" She started, obviously thinking him knowing would make it worse.
"It's Alistair, isn't it?"
"No, why would you think that…" she bit her lip and dropped her gaze.
"You're cheating on me with my best friend! Great!" He laughed but it wasn't happy. "I hope you get married and have fifty kids!"
"Carlisle-"
"No."
"You left me no choice! You won't even let me hug you!" she accused.
"That's because I don't trust you!" he cried.
"WHY?!"
He just stared at her like she had gone insane.
"WHY CANT YOU JUST BE NORMAL?!"
"Because I'm not! I wasn't good enough for you, is that why you did it?"
"Ugh! IF YOU WANT TO PUT IT THAT WAY THEN YES! YOU'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH!"
They were interrupted be Alistair coming into the room.
"Hey, I thought we could try this hunting thing again later?" he asked Carlisle, oblivious to what was happening.
"Have you told Tanya?" Carlisle glared at him, hurt colouring his voice.
"Told her what…?" Alistair asked.
"He knows, Alistair," Esme sighed.
"Yes, I broke up with her a few weeks ago."
"Then have fun." He turned to flee the room, only just restraining the sobs as tears ran down his face.
"Carlisle, wait, I'm sorry-" Alistair started.
"Go fuck yourself!" Carlisle screamed at him just as the African coven came in. They stood in shock.
"Just listen for a minute-" He tried again.
"Or even better, go fuck Esme! You've been doing it for months!"
The rest of the Cullens also came in but froze when they heard what was happening. Edward tried to grab Carlisle's arm.
"Don't pretend you didn't know about it," he snapped. Edward looked like he was going to cry. Bella growled at Carlisle. He ignored her and disappeared out the door.
"You've really done it this time," Zafrina told Alistair. She started after Carlisle.
