The poem takes its name from the Greek and Roman legends of Gemini – the twins Castor and Pollux. The poem was written in a response to the second season finale. The two speakers are McKay and Sheppard.
Castor
Close your eyes, accept your fate
Running blind, it's not too late
Caught within a silk cocoon
Navigating by the moon
Hungry ghosts, the restless dead
Spin the weave and knot the thread
Singing of the soul's demise
Trade your words to gain the skies
You tried your best, but nothing's done
You saw the parts, ignored the sum.
Time to put your work away
Time to find another way
You failed; this is your rightful due
We've had our share of problems, true
It's ashes now, so dust to dust
But you must know you have my trust
Even Eternity must end
But you must know; I am your friend.
