(Author's notes) Although it's my first fanfiction, I put alot of time and effort into it. I've been writing for a very long time, so I'm not completely new at this. I really hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 1: First Effects
The room could only be described as black. The walls, the floor, the feeling of the room were black, and cold. Suddenly, two small orange dots appear at a distance. What they are is unknown. They become larger, as if moving closer, which is impossible, because you can't move if you're on a wall. A body forms around the eyes. It becomes a gray wolf. The blackness begins to swirl around it; the sight is slightly nauseating. A closer look might tell that the wolf is smiling, but just when it could be distinguished-
Aelita sprang up from the annoying ring of the alarm clock. For a moment, she didn't know where she was, and she couldn't breathe. After she calmed down, she remembered, but she was a bit frightened. She hasn't had a dream like that in a while. She was scared, but got up and ready anyways.
In the cafeteria, all her friends (excluding Yumi) were waiting. Aelitasat down, unaware of the strange look on her face. She was trying to decode her dream, but couldn't understand it. She gaveup for the moment and snapped back to reality. She could tell her friends were puzzled by the looks on their faces. She gave a weak "I'm alright, don't worry" smile and began to eat.
Odd was talking about how a new girl was supposed to be coming, and how he couldn't wait to use his "Odd-like charm" on her. Ulrich burst out laughing. But, Jeremie was too absorbed in his book, and Aelita was too deep in thought to really notice. Seeing this Ulrich came to a stop, feeling very awkward.
Odd was the first to break the silence:
"Aelita? Are you okay?"
"Me? Oh, I…I'm totally fine, why do you ask?" Aelita responded nervously.
"You seem a bit…. quiet today."
"I'm just…. I've been…. I'm fine, don't worry."
Everyone was now staring at her.
"Excuse me, guys. I...I have some…homework to finish before class. See you later." She said as she got up to leave.
"Homework? Something's definitely wrong with her." Ulrich said as she left. Both he and Odd looked at Jeremie.
"Hey! I didn't do it this time! Stop looking at me that way!" Jeremie shouted, defensively. He then returned to his book, but still thinking about what's wrong with Aelita.
