Naruto watched his onee-chan/best friend cry, under the sakura tree.
Sasuke glared as one of his best friends dried her tears, under the sakura tree.
Kakashi watched sadly as one of his most beloved students struggled to stand up, under the sakura tree.
Gaara couldn't stand it any longer: he sprinted over to Sakura and glared at her. "What's the matter, Sakura?!" he asked "Neither Naruto or Sasuke or Kakashi won't tell me, so YOU tell me."
Sakura hiccupped, and then glared back "Not like YOU would care, GAARA" Gaara flinched, noticing how she failed to add 'kun' to his name.
He began again "Why wouldn't I care?"
Sakura sighed "I-I...never mind...you don't care, do you...?" Sakura sighed and turned her head away.
Gaara bristled with anger "What ever the problem is, I DO care, Sakura!! There is no one else in the world that I care about more than you!!" he shouted aggressively.
"Not even...Temari?" Sakura asked quietly "I-I saw you...kiss her, Gaara. It was only on the cheek, but you still kissed her!"
Complete silence.
Gaara chuckled and Sakura's head shot up. "Number one," Gaara began, "I'm a free agent (Sakura lowered her head, her eyes brimming with tears). Number two, Temari is...my..."
Sakura looked up sadly, "your girlfriend, right?" she asked quietly.
Gaara laughed "No dobe!! Temari is my SISTER!!"
"You're WHAT?!"
Gaara chuckled again "Yes dobe!" His expressions softened "Don't tell me you were crying because you thought that I was dating someone?" Sakura blushed and nodded. Sitting down in front of Sakura, Gaara sighed. "Fool, I only...I only..." Sakura looked up, taking Gaara's chin in her hands; she pressed his lips to her's.
"I love only you, Sakura-chan."
"I love you too, Gaara-chan."
