PROLOGUE
We had spent the infancy and adolescence together. He went away, as all the boys of small cities. He said that it wanted to know the world, that his dreams were going beyond the fields of Soria.
I was some years without news. Occasionally, it was receiving some letter, but it was all, because he never returned to the forests and to the streets of our infancy.
When I finished the studies, I moved to California, and discovered that he had reason. Soria was a small city. I entered a faculty and found boyfriend. I began studying for a competition that never held. I worked as a dependent, I paid the studies, I was suspended in competitions, I broke up with my boyfriend.
His letters of Tommy, meanwhile, started coming with more frequency, and on having seen the stamps of diverse places, I felt envy. He was my older friend, who knew everything, traveled the world.
From one day to the next, his letters started speaking about God, and always came from the same place in France. In one of them it was demonstrating his desire to enter a seminar and to dedicate his life to the prayer. I answered him, asking him to hope a bit, that his freedom was living a bit more before compromising with something so serious.
Rereading my letter, I decided to break it: Who was I to speak of freedom or compromise? Tommy knew of these things, and I not.
One day I knew that it was giving conferences, I surprised, because it was too young to put to teach nothing. But two weeks ago he sent me a letter saying he would go to Madrid, and wanted to have my presence.
I travelled for four hours, from California to Madrid, because it wanted to return to see it.
It wanted to listen to it. I wanted to sit down with Tommy in a bar and to remember the times in which we were playing together and believed that the world was so big that it was not possible to tour
