AN: I don't own anything recognizable in this fic, this came to me when I was listening to Case-Missing you.

Gil Grissom sighed after another long day of putting up with Ecklie, working on paper work, visiting crime scenes and worst of them all, not having Sarah by side. He entered a quiet apartment finding his dog, Hank, asleep on the couch. He turned on the radio only to find a song that he could relate to,

"Standing here looking out my window
My nights are long and my days are cold
Cause I don't have you
How can I be so damn demanding?
I know you said that it's over now
But I can't let go"

He thought about Sarah and the times they spent together, he looked at the many pictures they took together and smiled. He sat down to read some of his mail as he listened on,

"Like a cold Summer afternoon
Like the snow coming down in June
Like a wedding without a groom
I'm missing you
I'm the desert without the sand
You're the woman without a man
I'm a ring without a hand
I'm missing you"

He laid back and thought about the words, he was like ring without a hand, he was truly missing her. He checked his messages and went to bed. The next morning he got a call out to a scene. He jumped in his truck and turned on the radio hoping to find the song that represented how he really felt,

"Driving 'round thought I saw you pass me
My rearview mirrors playing tricks on me
Cause you fade away
Maybe I'm just hallucinating
Cause my loneliness got the best of me
And my heart's so weak"

Indeed he felt his heart was weak, he thought, everyday he really did want to pick up the phone and pour his heart and soul out to her. Sarah was all he thought about, he picked up his phone to dial Jim Brasses number.

"Hey Griss, you on your way"

"Jim, I'm sorry, I need to go away for a while"

Jim knew what Grissom meant; he sighed and spoke up,

"Go, I got it."

Grissom smiled and then dialed Sarah's number; after a few rings she finally picked up.

"Grissom" she said into the phone with excitement.

"Sarah, I'm missing you" he said as he headed toward San Francisco.

The End
