Disclaimer: Is Avatar mine? Nopittiy nope. Am I William Butler Yeats? Mebbe.

A/N: Inspired by these totally out of context lines below, I have tried to produce a villanelle, which of course does not work because villanelles rhyme and the source does not so I can't rhyme them but I tried and this is bad form but hey.

I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

-William Butler Yeats

I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Because I have nothing else to give;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

I am your son, firstborn, heir to your name;
I yearn to honour it as you please;
I have spread my dreams under your feet.

You tread upon the earth of our great nation;
Your dreams are realizing, mine just forming;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Sister is talented, and strong, and neat.
She raises her dreams aloft proudly, while
I have spread my dreams under your feet;

Mother is kind, and soft, and warm, and sweet;
She says your power is great like sunbeams;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

You say "Lucky to be born", I beg please
Have patience, have mercy, please understand;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
