15 minutes left.

15 minutes till he could rush home change and then rush to her house. Questions haunted him. How much had 10 years changed her? Will she remember him? Was she in a terrible accident causing her to forget all of her past?

Don't psyche yourself out Cato get a hold of yourself. He thought to himself. You are Cato Ludwig. No girl could turn you down.

But even that couldn't get his confidence up all the way.

15 minutes

15 minutes till the bell rings and she could shake this strange feeling she had felt all day. Was it the dream? No, it couldn't be. She thought to herself. That dream meant nothing to her now. She was a different girl now. She had grown up and realized love was a silly thing for little girls and fools, the dream of the boy with the icy cold blue eyes and blonde hair meant nothing. But she still couldn't shake the feeling there was more to it. She didn't like it.

She straightened up in her desk and looked over at her friend Finnick next to her. He was asleep. She scoffed and wacked his arm as hard as she could without drawing attention, he woke up with a start. "Ow" he hissed "what the hell was that for?"

"You were a sleep and about to get in trouble" she said with a laugh as he rubbed his shoulder. "And don't pretend like that hurt I've seen you take worse."

"Whatever" he scoffed while putting his head back on his desk. Finnick was a football player sure but off of the field he was Clove's best friend who was as lazy as they came. He was maybe six foot and all muscle. He had golden hair and green eyes; he could get any girl he wanted. And, he knew it. But he only had eyes for one girl, Annie, Clove's other best friend. Annie felt the same way but both of them were too nervous to say anything to the other about it. Annie was a perfect 5'7 and complimented Finnick in every way. They were the perfect meant to be couple. She had strawberry blonde hair that fell in perfect curls to the middle of her back, and had the most stunning green eyes.

She threw her pencil at Finnick in her last attempt to wake him up before announcements. "I'm getting up just give me a second." He growled at her from the protective shelter of his arms where his head was resting.

"Just tell me how much time we have left then I'll stop." He checked his watch

"Five minutes" he replied finally sitting up. She nodded then turned her attention back to the "lesson" her teacher was instructing. It was really just him going off on how he knew they didn't care and he was tired too but they just needed to power through the last five minutes. She turned her attention to her doodles while running a hand through her raven black hair that was so long that it grazed her lower back. She kept her hand cradling the back of her head while her fingers were still entwined in her hair.

Five more minutes.

He looked to his best friend next to him who was staring mindlessly at the board pretending like he was paying attention. Cato leaned over to him. "Dude I can't wait to get out of here"

"Calm down you'll see your girl soon"

"She's not 'my girl'" Cato had said the phrase he had said may times in his past, but then added something he had never said "yet."

"Look dude I say this with your best interest in mind. Be careful. I've asked around, and from what I've heard, she's not the kind of person to just jump into your arms and sing love songs. She most likely will resist."

"You don't know her like I do" Cato responded with a huff and turned his attention back to the board, or pretended to. Marvel just leaned over to him and said

"Maybe I don't but you haven't seen the girl in what? Ten years? These people have seen her today, yesterday, and last Monday. They know her more. All I'm saying is, I don't think your usual tricks will work."

Cato didn't respond because he didn't want to hear it he knew these people may have seen and known her, but he wanted to believe that he knew better. He zoned out the rest of class. Once the bell rang his heart skipped a beat.

She shoved her way through the halls almost using Finnick as a barge."Whoa Clove what's the rush?" He towers over her and she almost has to look at the sky to look him in the eye. She keeps him moving

"Nothing I just want to get home." She responds while being shoved in the busy hallways. She's so small that she could easily be pushed over. Finnick easily fits his huge hand around her tiny arm and pulls her to the side of the hallway.

"Are you ok? You've been acting strange lately." He looks seriously into her eyes. He always worries about her, ever since the incident.

"Finn I'm fine." She reassures him. "I'm just tired. I've had a lot of homework recently and then worked off of coffee during the day." She hated lying to him but she didn't exactly want to tell him what was going on. Especially something that was so irrelevant. He nodded and they worked their way to their lockers. His was next to the one Annie and Clove shared. He shared with one of their other friends Peeta Mellark. They saw that Annie was already at their locker gathering her stuff. Finnick ran ahead to greet Annie.

"Well hello Ms. Cresta." He bowed while she giggled at him. Once she stopped laughing, she curtsied with her plaid uniform skirt that all girls wore.

"Hello Mr. Odair" She greeted. "To what do I owe the honor?" She said still giggling.

"Can I get to my locker without having to witness your flirt session every day?" Clove interjected making Annie and Finnick turn a shade of red.

"Jealous Malady Fuhrman?" He said as he moved so she could get her books

"No but thank you for moving." She said reaching up to get books from the top shelf of her locker. Once having gathered all her stuff she told Annie she'd call her later and told Finn she'd text him. She grabbed her stuff from the bag drop and then booked it in the freezing cold to her black Ford Escape. Not bothering to stay with her friends today. She wasn't in the mood. She knew there was only one way to clear her head.

He bolted out of class and was at his locker in a matter of seconds. From there Marvel gave him a last good luck before he ran to his black BMW m6 and sped off.

Once he got to his house he ran upstairs without bothering to say hello to his mother who was in the kitchen. He pulled on a pair of kakis and a long sleeve t-shirt. He grabbed his black Patagonia jacket then said a quick goodbye to his mom and told her not to wait up before running out the door. He checked his slightly spiky blonde hair in the rear view mirror before peeling out of his driveway.

He sped onto the highway and started his drive to her house. He was so nervous. The same questions swirled in his head as he drove. He turned the radio on to block out his thoughts. He only started to wonder where exactly she lived when he pulled onto her street. It was a definite downgrade from their old neighborhood. There was litter everywhere and it was run down. As he pulled into the cul-de-sac she lived in he noticed the only house that was even remotely decorated for Christmas was the last one. It had lights and signs that probably looked amazing lit up. It was still really run down but the decorations added something to take away from that. He knew it was hers. Only her mom would go all out like this. He thought. So her mom hadn't changed. That's good maybe she hasn't changed either. He hoped. He also noticed the black Ford Escape sitting in front of it.

She pulled into her driveway scoffing at the silly decorations her mother had put up for Christmas. They're ridiculous. She thought. She put her car in park and turned the engine off. She grabbed her bags and climbed out. Once inside her house she ran upstairs and pulled on a pair of Nike shorts and a lax penny. She didn't care about the harsh Atlanta winter. Then she grabbed her beat up tennis shoes and slipped them on. She turned up the volume on the iPod she had grabbed and ran out her back door that leads to the back yard. Sitting in the corner of her porch was her lacrosse stick and a lacrosse ball. She grabbed them and started to throw the ball against the side of the house.

She blocked out all noise. She kept a steady rhythm with the ball. She caught every ball she threw.

Thud

Thud

Thud

The slight echo of the ball hitting the wall and the blaring music filled her ears. This was the only way to clear her head.

He climbed out of the car. He heard a slight constant thud coming from the back yard. He could over the fence enough to see a yellow ball go up, hit side of the brick house, come down and then repeat. He called out "Clove?" No response. He yelled over and over. Until he heard a last thud then a cry of pain.

"Shit! Ow! Ugh! Who's there?" The voice sounded annoyed.

"Clove? Are you ok?" He asked. A fence surrounded the backyard so he couldn't see anything, but he could hear the slight shuffling of feet.

"Who are you and how do you know my name?" She was really annoyed and he could tell.

"Why don't you come out here and see for yourself?" He said trying to be smooth, but there was no denying that his voice was shaking.

"Why don't you just tell me and we can be done with this charade?" She replied with a scoff

Fiesty. He thought. Headstrong as always.

"You'd think you'd remember the voice of your first love" he mumbled but not low enough for her not to hear.

"What?" He heard her say followed by the shuffle of footsteps. Before he knew it the gate door flew open to reveal her. One word escaped her lips. "Cato?"
