Hey everyone. This is an assignment for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I choose to do the Introduction to Quidditch: Quidditch Balls task number one. The task was to write about someone or something being fought over. I can see Sirius and James getting jealous of Harry choosing one of them over the other and fight over him like this. Can't you? I hope you enjoy the story. Without further ado here is Baby Fight.
I sighed as I heard Harry cry from the other room where I had left him with his father and godfather. Why couldn't they just pay attention to the baby for five seconds so I could start dinner. What I didn't realize was that the two men in question were the reason the baby was now screaming his head off. I walked towards the living room and bits of conversation started to reach my ears.
"He wants to come over and sit with Uncle Padfoot," hissed Sirius' voice.
"He wants to stay with his father," James hissed back.
"Mama," Harry cried.
"See you made him choose Lily over us," Sirius sighed as though James should have known that that would happen. Then to Harry he said, "Why don't you want to play with Uncle Padfoot. Uncle Padfoot's funner than Daddy or Mommy."
"No," James butted in, "he's not. Daddy's more fun than Uncle Padfoot is. Don't think Harry?"
"Uncle Padfoot bought you your first broomstick."
"Daddy buys you almost everything else."
"Oh. I thought Lily did that."
"Take it back, Padfoot. I swear to God..."
At this point I decided for the sake of Harry's young ears I'd enter the room and see to the bickering duo. When I walked into the room I saw Sirius and James practically nose to nose. Each with a hand on one of my son's arms as though about to play tug of war with the baby. Not thinking anything else I stormed between the two of them and picked up Harry breaking their hold on him.
"You two idiots were scaring, poor Harry, practically to death," I hissed at the two of them. "Apologize." I looked between the duo and then turned to Harry with small smile for him. "Mummy's here, sweetheart. Mummy won't let Daddy and Uncle Padfoot continue to fight over you. Come on let's go make dinner." I turned back to the two of them with a frown before leaving the room with Harry in tow. Perhaps they'd apologize to Harry after they thought better about it.
CRASH!
"Run, Padfoot. She's probably on the way back."
I'd deal with that one later. With that I set Harry down and continued to make my meatloaf and veggies for dinner.
I hope everyone enjoyed Baby Fight. Sirius and James are so much fun to write for especially when baby Harry is involved in the story.
