It wasn't long after the barrier broke that Muffet came up and set up her spider bakery. No one was surprised when Muffet made an immense profit in such a short time- despite her initial creepiness and intimidation, Muffet was actually quite charming and a darn good baker. Her spider croissants, dooughnuts, and cider were a huge success on the surface, despite the bakery's saying of "made by spiders, for spiders, with spiders!" Soon, she was able to invest in a giant, super-powered oven that allowed her to make even more treats.
It was during one of her days off that she decided to experiment with said oven as well as with making new spider goods. Following an idea she had a few nights ago, she began preparing a spider pie.
It didn't take as long as she expected to finish preparing; the oven still had not finished preheating. While she waited, she decided to take a smoke break. It was a habit she had formed a long time ago while trying to reunited the Spider Clans- running a business practically single-handedly was a stressful thing, and she had taken up smoking to deal with it. She lit up her cigar- a custom invention of spiders and webbing that were purple in appearance- and waited.
When she was almost finished with her cigar, she noticed that the oven had seemingly shut off. Irritated at the less-than-stellar performance, she went inside to check on the oven. She opened the oven door, resulting in a small blast of hot air, but nothing more. She leaned in, forgetting about the cigar in her mouth until the tip of it sparkled. She got a small whiff of gas before the oven exploded. The resulting shockwave launched Muffet up, up up! She could only watch as a purple mushroom cloud formed underneath her, completely eradicating her bakery as she flew through the atmosphere.
It was the talk of the town for the next month, how the bakery exploded and how Muffet was launched into the sky, disappearing with a twinkle a la Team Rocket.
As Muffet floated through space, she relit her cigar with a simple spell she had learned a long time ago.
First monster in space, she thought with a grin. She heard that astronauts were paid well, and being the first monster in space should bring lots of attention to her bakery and her cause.
All's well that ends well, right?
