This Labor Day was a reason to sit and relax with friends and family. Everyone was enjoying the view and each other's company, but there was one guy that was sitting and gazing at the beautiful day more than anyone else. He brushed his black bangs from his face and let his calm blue eyes stare into the beautiful sun.
"What are you doing out here?" A voice asked. He turned and saw Vamps behind him.
"I was just remembering about everything that has happened so far." Devon smiled warmly. "I was adopted within the past month and Salwa was adopted by your father. It almost seems too good to be true."
Vamps chuckled and sat down behind him gently.
"It is no dream young one. You all have a family now." Vamps smiled warmly.
"Vamps, is it true that you are like alien vampires?"
"No young one. We are simply aliens that have behaviors similar to the monsters you call vampires. We do not suck blood and we are not beings that were raised from the dead. Very different from those creatures on your horror films." Vamps replied softly. Devon nodded and then looked out into the distance once more. "Why do you ask Devon?"
"Well, I used to be afraid of vampires. But I'm not anymore since I have talked to you guys. You and Whampire are really cool." Devon smiled.
"Thanks. We think the same of you too. You know that you still have to meet my father." Vamps chuckled. Devon's eyes widened.
"Oh, I don't think so."
"Why not?" Vamps chuckled, cocking an eyebrow.
"I don't think I am fit to meet royalty." Devon started, but he stopped when he looked at Vamps' amused face. "Hold on! That makes you…"
"Yes, a prince! Now, hold on, where do you think you're going?" Vamps laughed, now wrapping his arms around Devon as he began to stand up. Devon then began chuckling and laughing and trying to escape the Vladat, but Vamps only held him tighter. Whampire came in too after hearing the commotion and chuckled seeing his brother capture the young boy.
"Now where does this young one think he's going?" Whampire laughed.
"He just found out we are princes and he's nervous about meeting dad." Vamps chuckled.
"Oh, there's no need to be afraid of him or us. We want you to be comfortable around all of us." Whampire smiled, now gently tickling his stomach too.
"And soon, he will meet dad when the time is right." Vamps added, now sitting up and still holding the giggling boy to his chest. Devon sat up and gave them both a friendly grin.
"We want you to have good memories living here Dev and we will start by having an initiation by the Vladat Princes," Whampire smiled deviously now pouncing on both Vamps and Devon and soon all of them began rough housing. Devon laughed and squirmed, trying to get free but it was no use. They had him! He could only laugh and hug his friends; these two were definitely no vampire monsters. They were kind aliens that became his family.
