Despondency
It was dark in the valley where Jaina Solo wandered. She had no clue how she ended up here or even where here was for that matter. Jaina had neither a glowrod nor her lightsaber to see through the gloom.
As she stumbled through the dark, she saw a light up ahead, a red light the color of fresh blood. Jaina walked towards the light, not caring if it was dangerous, she then saw the source of the light: two people carrying the crimson blades.
They were none other than Lomi and Welk, the degenerate scum that betrayed the Jedi task force on Myrkyr, abandoned them and caused Anakin to die. Jaina wished she had her lightsaber so she could have the pleasure of disemboweling the both of them for what they did to her brother.
The Dark Jedi lunged at her and the last thing she felt was a searing pain in her chest
Jaina's eyes flung open as she awakened from the nightmare. Her body was drenched in perspiration, her breathing was heavy and tears stung her eyes. She pulled herself out of her bed and wrapped a bathrobe around her quivering form.
Jaina left her room in the Jedi academy and walked quietly down the halls, trying to not wake anyone up. "Kriff you, Sithspawn." cursed Jaina under her breath, she walked down the halls, wishing that Jacen was here. But he wasn't, he was on a quest to find a deeper meaning of the Force.
Jaina brushed her brown hair from her eyes and continued to walk down the halls, sobbing quietly to herself. She came into on of the training rooms and saw something odd: a boy of maybe fifteen years of age was sitting on the floor looking at her.
He had mussed brown hair and ice blue eyes, just like Anakin. He was dressed in a Jedi's robe and had a faint blue aura about him, he saw her and immediately ran away.
"Wait come back!" called Jaina. She ran after him and followed him through the academy. Jaina caught up with him in the academy's repair bay, he ran through the blast doors and Jaina shook her head in disbelief.
She used a control panel nearby to unlock the door and ran outside after him into Ossean desert. He was crouched down in the sand, using his index finger to draw something in the sand. When he was finished, a somber look crossed his face and he disappeared.
Jaina walked to where he was writing and looked down at the words. Tears filled her eyes and she smiled as she read them. On the horizon was a man dressed in a Jedi robe and black utilities, it was her Uncle Luke.
"Jaina," asked Luke, "What are you doing out here in the middle of the night?"
"Nothing," Jaina said, "I just had a nightmare."
"Was it about Anakin?" asked Luke somberly.
"No," Jaina admitted.
Tears filled her eyes as she ran to hug her uncle. "Oh, Uncle Luke," she sobbed, "I miss him so much! Why did he have to die? I should have been the one who was killed on Myrkyr that day not him!"
"You don't mean that," Luke said quietly, "I know how you feel. I've had a lot of heartbreak during my life, seeing Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru incinerated on Tatooine, watching Obi-Wan die as he allowed my father to strike him down, Yoda passing away, telling me that there was another Skywalker, I've been through a lot, too."
Jaina sniffled and broke the hug. A smile spread across her weary face as she said, "It seems that Anakin misses me, too."
"What do you mean?" asked Luke.
"I'll tell you in the morning," Jaina said, "But for now, I've got to get some sleep."
"May the Force be with you," Luke called back to her.
"I know," she said, flashing a cocky Solo grin.
She went back inside the academy and went into her room. She slipped into her bed, thinking of the words Anakin had drawn in the sand:
I MISS YOU, JAYA.
