For the Favorite Characters Challenge, Mode C (ChoLuna)
It isn't often that Luna feels out of place. While she's always been a bit different, never quite fitting in, she's never felt as though her presence is a bit of an intrusion.
But now, she feels painfully awkward, and she doesn't like the feeling very much.
Cho seems to sense her discomfort. She takes Luna's hand, pressing a light kiss to her knuckles. "It's okay," she says.
"Daddy has always said that this is a private sort of thing," Luna explains as they come to a stop at Cedric's grave.
Cho shakes her head. "I want you here. He was quite fond of you, you know. He'd tell me stories of finding you muddy by the stream," she laughs, a hint of sadness in the sound.
"You miss him," Luna says quietly.
Cho nods. "I tried to fill the hole he left in my heart, but the pain never really goes away," she answers, releasing Luna's hand and kneeling in front of the marble headstone. "But he'd want me to be happy. I know he would."
"Do I make you happy?"
Cho smiles, and Luna can't help but to think of how beautiful she looks. After Cedric's death, she had been afraid that Cho would never smile again.
"Very much so," she answers.
Luna rests one hand on Cho's shoulder, the other on the headstone. "Don't worry, Cedric. I'll take good care of her."
