"You said you loved me, you said you would always be there. You said you would protect me. I called out for you, you never came. How could you do that to me? After all this time I thought you were my friend, all this time I thought I meant something to you...you lied." The sun began to rise on the brand new day. He lay on the ground, beaten and bruised, as the light hit his face he awoke. His body ached terribly as he tried to get to his feet. He looked around at the land that once was. His eyes filled with tears as the destruction of his beautiful land hit his eyes. He limped to where his house once stood, nothing left but most of the frame and rubble.
He turned to see the people of his country crying and screaming, he fell to his knees. He began sobbing loudly, "Why?...why didn't you come to help me?". He sat on the ground for a good while until many people walked over to him. Their faces filled with hope of an answer from him. He looked up at them all and could not help but cry harder. He had failed to save his country, like many things he had tried to do, he always ended up failing.
His sobs became softer as a man in a white robe walked up to him. He held out his hand to help him up, he nodded and took the hand that was offered. Once he stood up the people around him, still waiting for an answer from him, looked at him silently. He straightened his face and took a stand. "Today we awake to a broken Italia, our houses blown away, our loved ones lives taken. Our allies have failed to show to help us! We may be down now, but this will make us stronger. It is time that Italia shows the world how strong we really are. We will show the world the power of Italian Pride!". He had never heard himself like this, it felt good. The people cheered as he spoke, frowns now replaced with smiles. He walked into the broken city and a small grin came to his face. "We will be stronger...without you..."
Chapter 1
The sun began rising over the sleeping city, the light beginning to shine through the window and into his eyes. He groaned a bit not wanting to get up. He was quickly woken up by his alarm. He let out a soft sigh as he sat up and hit the snooze button. Feet then moved off the bed and onto the floor. He stood up and stretched and headed towards the door, "Nights just do not last as long as they used to...nor are they peaceful." he said in a slight dark tone. Before exiting the room he looked into a mirror placed by the door. Bright honey gold eyes looking back at him with such sadness it would break anyone's heart. But for reasons unknown he felt himself grinning at the image, filling with a great rage. He did not know why but it was there, building, growing rapidly. An image of a tall, blonde male burning in his mind. The grin quickly faded as he growled angrily and threw a punch at the mirror.
It quickly shattered into pieces that fell onto the floor. He glared at the shattered pieces as he huffed softly. Something warm ran down his hand, blood. He slowly looked at the wounded hand, finally catching himself and what he had done he gasped and ran to the bathroom to address the wound. Leaning over the sink with his head lowered he softly began sobbing.
His body shaking violently, "W-what is happening to me? Why am I getting so angry so easy?..A-And so often. I do not understand." He looked up to see himself in the mirror once again. He let out a slight scream as he took notice of something rather disturbing. His eyes had changed color, they looked PURPLE, the same as before. Falling backwards while trying to catch himself, He quickly closed his eyes and began telling himself it was all in his head and not really happening.
He did this for several minutes until he finally opened his eyes, He looked up at mirror once again, his eyes had returned to the soft honey gold they once were. Feeling relieved he slowly stood back up and walked out of the bathroom and towards the kitchen to make something to eat. A voice began speaking to him, it was a dark sounding voice. He had heard it many times before after that day of horror. "You know you are only fooling yourself little Italia. It is only being matter of time before you are slipping into deep madness and giving in to it da?" it echoed through his mind. His hands quickly placed on his head as he paused outside the kitchen. "I refuse to give into you, You will make me hurt people I care about! Go away! Leave me alone!" he cried loudly.
Now curled onto the floor he cried softly hugging himself,"I do not hate them, I am not mad at them. I don't want to hurt them. I don't want to hurt anyone." he told himself in a soft tone. A soft voice began speaking to him, he had not heard this one before. "Do you wish to become stronger? I can help you Feliciano." it said sweetly. He looked around for the voice, was it all in his head or was someone in the house?
"W-who are you?" he asked in a child like voice. "My name is of no importance, are you wanting to be stronger?" it replied. He lowered his head, "I do not want strength, I just want to stay myself. I don't want to change, I get angry very easy now. I feel myself slipping away and I get bad thoughts of wanting to hurt the ones I care about. I want to protect them from whatever this is." he said feeling himself tearing up again.
It was silent for a while, then the voice spoke up once again. "Never before have I heard such a thing, if that is what you wish I will make it so, but in return I ask for one thing. It is of great sacrifice, do you wish to continue?" it said in a serious tone. Feliciano was quiet for a moment or two. Thinking about it, he slowly lifted his head. "If you can protect them and make this feeling of anger and hate go away do what you have to." tears falling down he face, "I just want to protect them, please protect them." he cried out.
A dark figure appeared in front of him, bright yellow eyes gleaming at him. His eyes wide open as it came closer to him. "If that is what you wish, then that is what you will get." it said softly as it vanished into a dark aura. He suddenly felt dizzy and fell to the floor, tired...sleepy...slipping into...
darkness...
