Hey! This is my first fanfic... Just thought you should know... I have many more on the go, just have to figure out how to freakin' get them on here. It's really annoying. Read and review!

"As the water rises, the curse of evil is vanishing from the lake. Link, you did it!" I said to myself, standing on the edge of the small island in the middle of lake Hylia. The water in the lake was rising rather quickly, but that doesn't matter now, add long as it all comes back eventually.

I am Sheik, survivor of the Sheikahs.

A bright blue light suddenly appeared about ten feet in the air behind me. I knew what this meant. The Hero of Time was coming. He must have talked to Ruto, the water sage, already.

Since my back was turned to the light, I could not see it. But I could sense it's presence. Yes, Link was coming.

A shape in the form of a man appeared from the light. If I had been actually facing the light, I would have seen his face. I can picture what it would look like when he has reached the ground. It will be full of surprise, maybe some confusion, and possibly some excitement. His face will show all of these things.

When Link touched down safely on the ground, he did feel all that I had predicted. "Sheik?" He said. There was surprise in his voice. He sprinted over to me.

"Did Ruto want to thank me?" I asked, finally turning to look him in the eye. Oh he looked terrible! He was covered in cuts and bruises. It looked so painful. What did the boss of the water temple do to him?

Link smiled. "She wanted to thank you all right." He said. I could see his eyes trying to work out what my face would look like if I took off the mask that covered my mouth. Even he doesn't know my true identity. But he will soon.

"I see" I replied. "Look Link. Because of you, the curse becomes weaker as the water of the lake rises!" Link walked to my side, and looked over the now filled lake.

"The Ice covering Zora's Domain will eventually melt." I continued. There was a brief silence.

"It's morning." I told him. He looked up to the rising sun, and back to the shimmering lake.

I looked at Link instead of the lake for a bit longer. He looked very handsome, standing there. I so desperately wanted to tell him the truth. He stood so close to me. l had the sudden urge to grab his hand. Young love becomes deep affection. Isn't that what I had said to Link a couple days ago? But I didn't grab his hand. Instead, I jumped to the top of a dead tree. When Link noticed that I wasn't there he looked around, running to the different corners of the island. almost soundlessly, I dove into the lake, and swam off. I'm sorry Link. I thought. All Link would see are the ripples that I left behind in the water.

eh? How'd I do for my first try? My brother "edited" it, so it might not be as good as I thought. Oh well!
