Chapter five.
Mariden Called Enemy!?
"It isn't a piece of cake director!" Syphon yelled back at the Director, who just a moment ago told him and his small friend squad that one of their squad members was marked an enemy.
"Don't talk back, agent Syphon. You know as well as anyone else does that once someone is considered an enemy, no words shall be said except the job getting done." he said, his tone slightly quieter and more controlled than Syphon's was at the moment.
"You can't be serious..." Syphon muttered, looking down at the ground. Mille walked up to him and began to comfort him. "It'll be okay...we'll find her, and figure this out from there, okay?" she said, her eyes showing signs of worry and sadness.
Mariden was their appointed squad 'mom.' Naturally, she got the job done without any issues, and she did it excellently. She carried out all her missions with a control that nobody else had. This is why it's so confusing that she'd be called an enemy.
With nothing else to say, Syphon looked back up, and gestured for his squad to leave the room. They didn't need any words from the director, because his squad operated seprate from the directior's range of agents. This gave Syphon more control over his team than the director did.
When they left the room, Syphon looked back at the director. Thoughts in his mind- 'Could it be she learned something the director didn't want public? If so, what?' with that thought in mind, he opened his mouth.
"Why is she considered an enemy of the agentency now?" he asked the director, and he instantly stopped what he was doing at the moment, before looking back at Syphon.
"Continued threats for my life." was all he said before he continued what he was doing. Syphon however, didn't buy it. With that, he turned and left the room, leaving the director alone.
"What a fool..." he said quietly, smiling.
A few minutes after Syphon left the room, he noticed Fred leaning on the wall.
"Do you buy it?" he asked, slightly confused.
"Not at all. There is more to it than the director wants known to us." he replied, and as he walked by Fred, he leaned off of the wall and followed suit next to Syphon.
"Mille and Jack are ready. I feel sorry for Jack though, this is his last mission before he gets transferred to a different squad. It just had to be a murder mission..." he didn't need to say anything else, he knew Syphon got the message of what he meant.
Syphon nodded. Murder was all they were good for. While the director calls it 'Killing enemies.' They would not say that. It was out blown murder. And what could they do about it? Nothing. Just sit back and take out their orders with speed, and killing intent.
"This mission is shit."
