Lorcan's Pov
Lorcan and Grace were standing on the deck of the Nocturne, with the light summer breeze blowing through they're hair. Lorcan was standing behind her with his arms wrapped around her waist, her hair blowing lightly in his face, but he didn't care. They were looking up at the stars, and her eyes were twinkling brighter than ever. He took her by the hand, spun her around, and kissed her. As they broke apart, she smiled at him and he smiled back.
"I love you," she said, and he said it back.
He's always thought about what would have happened if she wasn't shipwrecked in that storm. Would they ever have met? Would she somehow ever know he existed? Would they end up together somehow? Or would she be with someone else, in their arms like this? Of course, they could have done so many more things than they could, like go to movies, go to restaurants, go to the beach. She could be so much more happier. The thought pained him to think so. It was selfish, he knew, but he loved her. He told her what he thought, and she started frowning at him.
"Lorcan, how could you ever think I would be happier living like that? I love you, no matter what, never doubt that."
"I love you too, but we could never go anywhere."
"Who says so? The beach is possible. At night time, of course," she added with a smile.
"Could we really?" He asked.
"Of course! Why couldn't we? Maybe we could go tomorrow night," she said. He told her that sounded like a brilliant idea.
"Hey, since Connor and Jasmine are on aboard now too, maybe we could make it a double date?" She said.
"That sounds good," he said. He'd never really become close friends with Connor, so this could be a good chance to get to know each other better.
"Great! I'll go tell Jasmine." she said. Grace gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek and ran to Jasmine's cabin. He shook his head and grinned at her enthusiasm. Lorcan decided to go to Connor's cabin to break the news.
Grace's POV
Grace could hardly contain her excitement as she ran over to Jasmine's cabin. When she finally reached it, she banged on it like crazy.
"Jasmine! Open up! I've got some really exciting news!"
When Jasmine finally opened the door, Grace expected her to look annoyed. But instead, she had a panicky look on her face.
"Is everything alright Grace?" She asked.
"Of course! Why wouldn't it be?"
"Well the way you were banging on the door, I thought you were pregnant or something," she said grinning. Grace made a face.
"And you really think that's how I'm going to tell you?"
Jasmine laughed and opened the door wider so she could enter. "So what's got you all excited?"
Grace grinned. "So I was talking with Lorcan earlier on deck, and we're going on a date tomorrow, so I suggested that we make it a double date with you and Connor too. So what do you think?" Grace asked hopefully.
Jasmine grinned at Grace's determined face. "I think that's an amazing idea! Does Connor know?"
Grace shook my head. "No I don't think so, but I think Lorcan may be telling him now."
Jasmine nodded and smiled. "So have you guys thought of possible places to go yet?"
Grace nodded. "Yes! We were thinking of going to a beach. Is that alright with you?"
"Perfectly fine! I love the beach, I haven't been there in ages. I've been a pirate for most of my life, and there's barley any break for us!" She laughed.
"Do you have a swimsuit?" Grace asked, a little awkwardly.
"Of course I have a swimsuit! I may not have been swimming in a while, doesn't mean I don't have...something to wear," Jasmine said.
Grace giggled. "Connor has the most stupidest looking swimming trunks ever. I got it for him for his birthday because he ripped the other one. He's never worn it though. You should see it to believe it!"
Jasmine laughed too. "I can't wait to see it then! What does it look like?"
"It's hot pink with neon green polka dots," Grace said between giggles. She tried picturing Connor in the shorts, and started laughing harder.
Connor's POV
Connor couldn't get to sleep, for some reason tonight. He tried several times, but nothing worked. He thought about going to visit Jasmine, but he didn't want to wake her up if she was asleep. He also thought about going to see if Grace wasn't busy, but she was probably with Lorcan. He was starting to bond with Lorcan more now, which was good, because in the past it was kind of awkward between them. Connor being anti-Vampirates, and Grace being friends with them. But ever since Connor had found out he was a dhampir, it kind of changed the way he saw Lorcan and his crew. Defiantly not Sidorio's or Lola's crews, but the Nocturne's, definitely. Lorcan had even offered via Grace if he wanted to talk, but Connor had declined, even though he desperately needed to talk.
But after the war ended, he had taken up Lorcan's offer, and went to talk to him about it. For some reason, Grace just didn't seem like the person he needed to talk to, because then all she would have done was persuaded him to drink the berry tea. Connor had tried drinking the tea, but that just didn't work for him. He needed blood. He's grown used to it now, just like Lorcan said he would.
After the war, Connor and Jasmine had talked things through, about them and what's been going on. He had felt like he owed her an explanation.
*FLASHBACK*
"Hey Jasmine, you have a second?" Connor asked.
"Yes of course, come in, Connor." Well at least she wasn't mad anymore.
"I have to tell you something I should have told you a while ago. I know you overheard me talking to Lorcan at Ma Kettle's that one night but I felt like I should tell you myself, and what's been going on," he started to say.
Jasmine shook her head and put a finger to his lips, "Before you say anything, I just wanted say I'm sorry for giving you the cold-shoulder for the past few weeks. I don't know what came over me. I'm really sorry. I thought it was just about hearing what you and Lorcan were talking about at Ma Kettle's, but then I realized it was all the guilt that was welled up inside me about the situation about you me and Jacoby too, and I took it out on you. I did finally come clean with Jacoby. Sorry that took so long too, it's just that we've been good friends for years. But I told him I was dating you now."
Connor nodded his head, and forced a smile. "Yeah, I know you told Jacoby because he came to my cabin after."
Jasmine suddenly looked worried. "What did he say? Did he do anything?"
Connor shook his head. "It doesn't matter now. He was pretty mad, but I guess that's understandable under the circumstances."
"Tell me what he did, Connor. It matters. We're together now, and I want us to have a completely honest relationship. I really care about you, you know," she said.
"I really care about you too, more than you'll ever know, and I want us to be completely honest too, but what he did was in the past," Connor said.
"That doesn't matter. I caused whatever happened, and I need to know," she argued.
He shook his head and looked into her eyes. There was no escaping telling her. So he decided to come clean. He told her how he came into his cabin and what happened. When he finished, her mouth was hanging slightly open, so he quickly reassured her that neither of them were badly injured.
Jasmine look really #!*% off now. "I cannot believe he would do something like that! I told him very specifically not to confront you about the situation, because it wasn't your fault any of it happened."
He shook my head. "Jas, it's OK. I understand. I guess I would have felt the same way, if i was in his place." He looked into her eyes. "Now I have to come clean with you about something."
Jasmine nodded. "Connor, I already know your a dhampir, and that your Sidorio's son. I'm completely fine with that."
Connor looked down at his knees. "I know you know, but I feel like I owe you an explanation at least. I've been quite distant for a while, and I haven't been the greatest boyfriend either, for not telling you. "
Jasmine then took Connor's hand and said, "You are an amazing boyfriend, but you need to learn to trust me and your other friends when you need to."
He nodded. "That's why I'm telling you everything now."
*END FLASHBACK*
The best part, was that she completely understood. Then he got to the blood part.
*FLASHBACK*
Jasmine was holding his hand as he was telling her everything. And he did tell her everything. He told her about Sally, Sidorio, the spell, how him and Grace were what they were today. She took it all really well. Then she asked:
"Do you take blood too, then?"
Connor froze. He had forgotten about that part. She just smiled at him and said that she didn't care if he took blood or not, she would always support him.
He tried to smile. "Thanks Jas. But yes, I do take blood..."
"Do you have a donor?"
He shook my head. "I used to go to the Blood Tavern."
"Do you want a donor?"
"I was thinking about it, yes. But I'll have to ask Obsidian, and talk things through with him about it first. Maybe Mosh Zu too."
Jasmine nodded then said slowly, "What if I became your donor? I want to be with you, Connor, I really do, but your immortal, and I'm not. This could be our only hope."
Connor was speechless. "And you would have done that for me?"
Jasmine nodded again. "I would do anything for you. And you really need this."
He smiled. "If you're okay with it, then we could go see Obsidian first thing tomorrow."
"That sounds good," she said and gave him a hug, and he hugged her back and kissed her.
*END FLASHBACK*
So now she was Connor's donor. The Captain had said yes, and Jasmine was also getting used to the whole "blood taking thing". She and Grace have become best friends these past few weeks, and Connor have feeling they gossip about him and Lorcan a lot, because whenever they see them talking, they always look over at him and Lorcan and started giggling.
Suddenly, he heard a knock on his door. Connor went over to open it, and there was Lorcan standing in the doorway.
"Hey, what's up?" Connor asked.
"Nothing much, but I've got to tell you something," he said.
"Sure, come in," Connor said. As Lorcan entered, he sat on the comfy chair, next to Connor's bed where he sat.
"So I was talking to Grace earlier, and we were thinking of going on a date, but then we decided to make it a double date with you and Jasmine too," Lorcan said.
Connor laughed and said, "I bet I can guess who's idea that was!" Lorcan laughed too.
"We were thinking of going to the beach. At night, of course," he said. Even after Connor and Lorcan had talked about his blood hunger, they've never really become the closest of friends. But Connor and Oscar have. So did Connor and Darcy. He didn't know if it was the fact that before, Connor was completely against Lorcan and Grace being together. Lorcan knew he was, so that made it more awkward, even though after Connor had told him he was completely fine with it now. Connor thought about the double date. It seemed like a really good idea. He knew Jasmine would love it, and Grace of course. It would also be a good opportunity to be better friends with Lorcan.
"I think that's a great idea," Connor said and Lorcan smiled. Then a thought struck him. If they were going swimming, he was stuck with only one pair of swimming trunks, which was the one Grace got him for our belated birthday. It was the most embarrassing thing to wear in public,as a guy. So he asked Lorcan if they were going swimming.
"Yes, we probably are, why?" He asked.
"I have a very...awkward looking swim trunks...Grace got them for me..." I mumbled.
Lorcan laughed. "Oh come on, they can't be that bad!"
Connor gave him a look and laughed. "You wanna bet?" So he walked over to his dresser and opened the drawer and pulled out the trunks. He turned around and showed Lorcan, who in response, started laughing even harder. Connor gave him another look.
"Ha ha, so funny," he said sarcastically. "And that is my only pair."
After Lorcan finally recovered from laughing, he grinned and said Connor could borrow one of his. He had never experienced greater relief in his life.
