Another Time, a Time of Magic
I'm actually really sorry for writing this but I just saw the Doctor Who finale thirty minutes ago so this kinda came to me and I couldn't resist. It's a cracky double drabble. Very... cracky. Sorry again. At least it would explain Kilgharrah's knowledge of the future...
The Doctor looked at his old self, the man who he promised never to be again.
"What did he do?" Clara asked, sensing there was something horrible in the Doctor's past.
The Doctor winced and remembered.

It was fairly early in England's future when Kilgharrah landed on Earth in the guise of a dragon. Well, really it was the effect of an appearance changer that Kilgharrah was dared to use by the man who would become the Master. Saskiane technology from the 47th century was always good for a laugh.
Kilgharrah spent a few nice years of flying around and terrorizing people, but he was soon locked up below an Earthling castle. He wasn't very happy about this. However, to his infinite amusement, he found that a famous Earth legend was playing itself out. He wondered what could happen if he tweaked things...

The Doctor's face was apologetic as he admitted, "I became a cryptic dragon who gave Merlin all the wrong advice."
"What?!" Clara looked completely bewildered,
"Oh, just- I was young then!" The Doctor made and odd indignant but still ashamed face before turning around and huffing off.
The older version of him chuckled loudly.
I apologize again, but with that last scene; "John Hurt as the Doctor," I really couldn't stop thinking "Hey, that's the guy who voiced the Great Dragon! No wonder the Doctor is so ashamed of his past- He caused Merlin to turn Morgana evil, Mordred evil, (in a way) Arthur to die, and other things with the gift of self-fulfilling prophecy!" It even worked in a way because it was never explained why Kilgharrah knew the future. I assumed he heard the prophecies somewhere but I've seen some stuff out there where he can actually see the future himself. Well in this deluded drabble, he's really a Time Lord bending Earth to his will... Yeah. This is definitely crack. Again, I'm sorry. So, so, very sorry.
