Disclaimer: I sadly don't own Kyou Kara Maou
AN: Not my best piece of work but I was more playing with ideas with this than anything else. I got the idea when I noticed that the Forbidden Boxes correspond with what element that a character wields, like Gwendal is End of the Earth, and Conrad was the key to The End of the Wind, thus this one shot was born! Please tell me what you guys think!

Conrad was like the wind, at least that's what Yuuri thought and it wasn't just because of the Forbidden Box that the soldier was the key for. He was like a strong unseen force that touched everyone but no one truly saw. His gentleness and his smiles reminded Yuuri of a cool summer breeze that played through the grass, sending the wild flowers dancing. Just like the time he'd stumbled across Conrad down at the baseball diamond, teaching the children from the town how to play. The kids' faces were practically beaming with delight as their laughter drifted up towards the young Maou on the air currents.
Other times, in the heat of battle, Conrad was like a hurricane. A deadly force that no one dared challenge, protecting Yuuri from any danger that may threaten the young Maou.
Yuuri remembered other times, after a long hard day of grueling paper work, Conrad would appear, like a breath of fresh air, holding a ball and mitts for a nice relaxing game of catch. He still expected that, even though...
Conrad had fallen in battle, defending the young Maou, loosing his left arm which later was the only thing anyone could find of him among the burned wreckage. Yuuri was certain the air had gone completely still then, the wind dying completely, only to have a gentle breeze brush away his tears, when Conrad had risen again, but now he was wearing the uniform of the enemy.
Yuuri couldn't exactly remember how it happened now, but at some point, it'd all become too much and he'd snapped. His maryoku had been unleashed, setting loose a wild gale within the arena. Conrad had easily kept his feet though, not at all hampered by the howling winds, calling him back, once more blowing away the dark storm clouds that tried to cover the sun, even though he'd changed sides.
Conrad hadn't abandoned Shin Makoku, he knew that without a doubt, no matter what anyone said, because Conrad was like the wind and Yuuri knew the wind, like always, was on his side.
