DISCLAIMER: All creative rights to Twilight and its characters belong to Stephenie Meyer. I do not in any way, profit from the following story, I just enjoy playing around with the wonderful characters.

So, Hi guys. I got the idea for this story in my head recently, and have been obsessed with getting it down. I wanted to get the intro out there, and gauge interest, before getting some more up. Due to a bad track record with past stories, I'd rather only post when the story is actually completely written out, but I decided to take a chance for this one, so let me know what you think!

Also, keep in mind I' not actually from America, so any geographical errors, or anything like that isn't intentional. I do try to do my research, but feel free to correct me!

It all began with Angela. She was my best friend growing up in the dreary, rainy town of Forks Washington, and it was she who encouraged me to think bigger than my vague thoughts of maybe opening a bookstore and living in Seattle after graduation.

Ange dreamed of living in a place where people glowed gold, and wore short sleeved tanks, and little shorts in place of the flannel and jeans we grew up with. Angela wanted to live in Los Angeles.

And hearing her go on about it, it actually seemed like a pretty cool idea. I could use a little bit of warmth and sunshine after a twenty one years of cold and cloud cover. So as our joint graduation at Washington State approached, we began our arrangements for our migration down south along the West Coast, including finding a reasonably priced flat in Santa Monica.

Angela found work right away at Good Samaritan Hospital. Nurses were always in high demand, no matter where you lived. A short while later, I found my own job, writing short pieces for a small magazine called LA Gettaways. I had planned to find something to pay the bills and slowly build up a deposit for a loan for my store, but I ended up falling in love with my job. The longer I worked, the more I loved exploring all of the nooks and crannies of LA, sharing all of the little gems and unique spots with our readers.

We settled into LA life rather quickly. Ange's skin soon roasted to a lovely honey kissed color, although my own ivory skin only burned in the sun, so I always had to slather myself in sunscreen. I didn't tan, but I sure loved the sunshine anyway.

A few months down the track, Ange met Ben Cheney. He was a very geeky, tall, dark eyed, black haired, caramel skinned, glasses wearing, IT tech guy, who worked in gaming or something or other. They got serious pretty quickly, and a year later they got engaged, and she moved out of our shared apartment, and into his slightly larger house, which was only a 5 minute walk away.

Before I knew it, 4 years had passed, and the company that owned LA Gettaways wanted to expand, starting a new publication that covered all of the states in the US. What was really cool was that they had been keeping an eye on my work, and wanted me to be the main feature writer of the new magazine! It involved a lot of travel (which was all on the companies bill!) and a hefty pay rise – so how could I refuse? Who knew that Angela's once wild idea of moving to California would actually lead to all of this? Not me.

My first assignment was in New York City, and it was there, in the heart of the most busiest city in the world, that I met Edward Cullen. It was there that I fell in love in a New York Minute. And there, in the Big Apple, that my whole life changed.

I just didn't know it yet.
