My Throne of Glass book

Chapter 1 – Celaena

She had been on the ship for about an hour and a half. The tide was going out and if they had left any later, then they would've been beached, and maybe she would've felt better if it did. Running through her many emotions that she couldn't pin point. She felt sad and apprehensive for leaving Rowan like that but she was sure that he could look after himself but she still had a bad feeling about it. She was sure this was due to their blood oath. She could feel his strongest emotions and he seemed to be tense. The other feeling was different all together. She was sailing back to Ardalan and back to Chaol. She wondered if he had discovered her secret, and if he had who he would tell. If he told the King, she was dead the moment she set foot in Ardalan. Yet that didn't seem to be the source of her worrying. What she was really worrying about was seeing him again, seeing that beautiful, flawless face.

What would she do? Would she pretend that he didn't exist or would she never let him go again? Her promise to Nehemia might be the death of her. Could she die leaving Chaol behind?

The ships dinner bell sounded and she ignored it. She couldn't face seeing other people quite yet. There would be too many questions that she couldn't answer without starting a fight. So she decided to miss dinner and head for bed. Tomorrow would be a long day. As she went towards her cabin her mind drifted towards Dorian.

She hadn't thought of him in ages. Had his father discovered his secret yet? She hoped not because that would be another complication in her plan. She thought back to the time when she was in love with him. Oh how it was fun. Maybe she did the wrong thing leaving him for Chaol. Oh she couldn't make her mind up! Who was it, her enemy's son or the soon to be Lord of Anielle. Why was it so hard?

She had reached her cabin. Inside she went and without getting ready for bed, she lay down and fell in to a troubled sleep.
