Author's Note: Set in a somewhat AU Season 6. I liked the episode "Dead Things", but this is a more brutal take on what Warren, Jonathan and Andrew could've really done. Enjoy!

It seemed as if everything had gone by like a blur.

The arrest.

The interrogation.

The trial.

The first sentence.

Pretty soon, Buffy Summers found herself sitting helplessly in a jail cell for the next three months, convicted of crime she didn't commit. Waiting for the final sentence the judge had upon her fate.

There was no possible way she could plead innocent in that court room. All the proof was there; the videotape, the bloody dagger used to commit the murders, her fingerprints on the hilt. All of it was there, who'd believe a word she'd say?

But Buffy Summers knew she didn't do a thing, she knew she'd never do anything like this.

She specifically remembered that day like it were yesterday.

Giles needed extra help with inventory at the shop. She blatantly remembered saying that she had plans….okay, maybe fondling Spike weren't exactly plans, but she had the urge to do so. So she told Giles she couldn't make it.

When she returned home, after leaving the crypt, she found Dawn and two police officers waiting for her in the living room. First thought of course was, God what did Dawn do. But it wasn't about Dawn…they were there for her. Pretty soon she was being arrested and accused of a crime she didn't commit.

Of course, while in the back of the squad car she could've easily escaped, she'd done it before with Faith; but before she could start breaking bones she had know what she was being accused of.

Well, she was about to find out.

The officers had driven into the shopping center of the Magic Box. The flashing red and blue lights nearly blinded her. Ambulances, squad cars, they were all surrounding the entrance.

"Maybe this'll bring back some memories." One officer said. They pulled her out the squad car.

She watched as lifeless bodies were being carried out on stretcher from the shop; the special cover placed over them.

"Oh my god," she whispered. "Wh-" she looked over and saw a traumatized Anya, sitting on the street corner covered with a blanket. "What happened?" was all she could say. Tears were beginning to fall from her eyes; she had the strongest feeling that one of her friends was being whisked away on one of those stretchers.

Where were the others?, she thought.

"Huh, Miss. You really aren't a great actress." The cop said who was holding her left shoulder tightly.

"What is this?" Buffy muttered.

"Miss-" the officer started.

"I'm serious!"

"Okay then, let me refresh your sick mind. You killed everyone in that shop. That blonde girl over there," the officer pointed to Anya. "Is the only survivor."

Buffy's body went numb; the emotion in her face was plain.

"What."
