Chapter 1 I sat nervously in the seat of the truck as we pulled up to the gates of my home for the next 9 months. I look at the trees lining the driveaway and the huge pastures to my right.
We followed the signs to the horse unloading area. I opened the trailer and walked up to Mouse and petted her soft nose to calm her and myself down.
I unloaded her from the trailer and walked towards the stables looking to see the outdoor arenas and the big pastures and off in the distance the corss country course which I cannot wait to see.I walk into the stable and start looking for the stall with her name on it and finally find it. I look inside and it's a nice spacious stall. I unlatch the gateand slowly lead her inside. I take off her lead line and give her a hug and mutter I'll be right back baby.
I walk out of her stall and latch it behind me I walk through the stable looking at all the horses and the wall filled with ribbons and trophies.
I walk back out to the trailer and get her water bucket and grooming kit. I carry her stuff into the stable I set the grooming kit outside her stall and go to fill her water bucket I walk back to her stall to see my dad had carried a hay bale and a bag of grain to her stall.
I set her water bucket in it's holder and give her a leaf of hay in her hay net. I walk back to the truck to get my tack trunk which is very full and heavy.
I carry her tack tunk to her stall and set it ousdie her stale I pick up her tack and take it into the tack room I read the name tags and put her tack where it belongs.
I walk back to her stall and check on her. I go inside her stall and lean agsaint her calming myself down. Once I'm calmed down a little I exit her stall after giving her one last hug. And walk towards the truck to get my luggage. My dad picks up 2 of my boxs and I grab both of my suitcases and my duffel bag. I look at my dorm assigment and double check my dorm room assigment. We walk towards my dorm building we start walking up the stairs which is not easy with everything were carrying as my dorm room is on the 3rd floor. Finally we reach the 3rd floor and I read the room numbers as we walk by we get to the guidance counslers office so I can get my room key. I knock on the open doorway a lady in a chair spins around to greet me. You must be Elena she says as she walks up to me after picking up a few things off her desk. Yes I am I say nodding. Well I'm Danielle your dorm advisor I just have a few things for you. This is the dorm rule book and this is your room key she says as she hands me them. If you have any other questions just come and ask me Danielle says and smiles. I will Thank You I say and smile back.
We continue down the hallway untill we reach my dorm room. I lean my suitcase agsaint the wall and unlock the door. I walk inside and set my things down and my dad heads out of the room and back downstairs to get the rest of my stuff.
It doesn't look like either of my roomates are here yet so I chosse a bed and set some of my stuff on the bed. My dad comes back with my last box and bag and sets them on the ground.
I guess it's time for me to go he says. I walk over to him a give him a big hug. Thank You for everything dad. Your Welcome sweetie he replies and hugs me back. After a few moments he lets me go. Bye Elena make sure you call everyday and tell me how you're doing and slowly walks out the door. Bye Dad and I wave till he is out of sight.
This is it the start of my new life. I look towards my stuff. I better start unpacking and reach for my first box containing my sheets, pillows and comferter.I start to make my bed. And wait to meet me new roomates.
