Right, anyone who stalks my page will know that I often forget to put my disclaimers...but c'mon you know I don't own any of this. :)
Draco POV
I was silently reading in my own carriage, for the first time I had managed to get away from everyone else and be able to think, although I had nothing specific to think about; I was just enjoying the peace. There was no Pansy grabbing onto me every second, there was no Crabbe stuffing his face, there was no Goyle trying to remember the alphabet and, most importantly, there was no sign of Potter or his companions. I looked out of the carriage window to watch the countryside fly by, I think I may have even seen a sheep or two.
"Peculiar things sheep are aren't they?" Startled, I turned around to find a wide eyed girl smiling at me. It seems my peace wasn't going to last much longer.
"I do feel sorry for them though; personally, I wouldn't like it if someone shaved off my hair to make jumpers." The girl carried on talking as if she made perfect sense, "Also, it must get very cold to have no fluff. Imagine that, you've spent months all warm and cosy and someone goes and shaves off your warmth and sends you back into a field. I'm Luna, by the way."
"Draco." I replied still slightly baffled at what she was saying.
"Oh, I know." The girl smiled turning to gaze out of the window.
It's not only the sheep that are peculiar I thought to myself. I looked Luna over to see that she was dressed rather weird and had radishes for earrings. At least it isn't Potter I reasoned.I turned my attention back on my book as Luna seemed to be keeping to herself. I only got a few sentences in before she started talking again.
"You have very pretty eyes." She stated staring unnervingly at me.
"Err...thanks. You too." I smiled going back to my book. I could see Luna move to sit beside me from the corner of my eye, even if I hadn't I'm sure the sound of her humming loudly would have made it clear.
"What are you reading?" She asked. Sighing, I placed down my book and turned to face her, she actually did have quite pretty eyes.
"Just an old diary I found." Her eyes seemed to light up as I said this.
"I once found an old diary; it was at the bottom of my mother's quill drawer. It had some beautiful sketches inside." She practically squealed with joy, "I carry some with me, would you like to see?"
Knowing I would just get interrupted if I tried to do anything else I nodded, only to be bombarded with sketches of strange looking creatures.
We must have spent the next hour looking at them all, Luna explaining every tiny detail and I becoming amused by this slightly insane girl I had never even known before she started talking about sheep.
When the train finally stopped Luna stood up quickly, pecked me on the cheek and skipped away. I could feel the bright pink lipstick that had now stained my cheek but, somehow, I didn't care.
Well, when I started writing this I didn't expect it to end like that.
