Promises
If you made a promise,
To one special friend
You told her you d keep it,
Even if it cost you your end
What if the promise was to bring home your best friend?
He fell into darkness,
but you were the light
You thought you could save him
But you didn't win the fight
You thought you could win and bring home your best friend,
Through yelling and fighting
You couldn't bring him home in the end
Your special friend walks in while you recover from the clash,
She sits in a chair in your hospital room with a smile,
She tells you she is going to stay for awhile
Seconds turn to minutes and those into hours,
She says she must go visiting is over in an hour.
As she turns to leave your sleepy but awake,
You know that warm smile on her face was a fake.
So now you are sitting ALL alone.
And something wet roles down your cheek,
The first tear has been shown
Your promise is broken You just want to go home.
To your astonishment a man appears at the window,
He promises you he ll teach you all you need to know.
You think Thank god I can keep my promise in the end,
Maybe if I m stronger I can bring back my best friend.
So you train your body,
But you have to keep in mind
If you waste even a second
You ll run out of time
But what you didn t know is the darkness has closed around your best friend,
A gate of darkness you can t penetrate
And that s when you think Am I really too late?
You look and you look,
when you find him you fight.
You fight but you know something doesn't feel right
That s when you realize he s fighting with darkness and you with light
Yin and Yang,
Wrong and right,
He chose darkness while you chose light.
You tried so hard but didn't succeed Light can t prevail when there is nothing to achieve.
The path he chose sealed his fate,
By walking threw evils gate.
As your adventure comes to an end,
You couldn't keep your promise,
And you couldn't save your friend
