Author's note:

This is a short one-shot where Pitch tries to get shoes onto his lover, Jack's, feet. Though, it doesn't go as planned.

Fluff and a little tiny bit of angst.

Disclaimer: I do not own Rise of the Guardians.

Warnings: Blackice, BoyxBoy fluff :3

"Jack! Come down now!" Pitch growled, annoyance clear in his voice.

"No! I won't put them on!" Jack said loudly, crossing his arms and staying as high in the tree as possible knowing for sure Pitch wasn't going to climb it to reach him.

"You have cut your feet on ice a million times too many!" Pitch reminded him, remembering Jack coming home to him for bandages for a bleeding foot or two. He didn't like seeing his little icicle hurt or injured.

"I'll never use shoes!" Jack screamed stubbornly.

"Jackson Overland Frost! Get down here now!" Pitch yelled, using Jack's whole name would maybe do the trick.

"No! Never!" Jack shouted back, refusing to give up the fight. He never did. That was one of the things that Pitch loved about his little winter spirit, though, right now he wished the child wouldn't be so damn stubborn. Pitch grit his teeth.

"If you don't come down here at an instant I will ignore you!" Pitch threatened with a dangerous tone. That made Jack snap. Pitch knew Jack's deepest fear, it was still of being left alone, and he was using it against him. Cruel? Yes, but for Jack's own well being.

The teen was silent as he slowly floated down to the ground softly, feet landing on the cool snow as he watched Pitch. He felt tears start to sting in his eyes.

"You wouldn't do that.." he whispered, mostly trying to convince himself more than Pitch whilst looking like an abandoned puppy in the middle of nowhere. Because he knew, Pitch was more than capable enough of ignoring him for a long time.

"I would if it was for your own safety." Pitch said, no longer screaming. He watched Jack, seeing a tear slowly make its way down along his cheek, feeling the immortal child's fear grow stronger and stronger pretty quick.

Jack looked completely heartbroken and terrified, and it made Pitch regret it altogether. The Nightmare king approached Jack slowly, seeing the teen back away slightly in fear, hurting Pitch. Jack didn't think he would hurt him, right?

"Come here Jack." he whispered kindly, seeing the hesitation in Jack's teary eyes before he stepped towards the older spirit. Pitch's arms quickly embraced him, holding him as close as possible. He heard soft sobs escape the immortal teen.

"Shhh, shhh, don't worry, I only want you to be alright, okay? Look, I love you so very much, you're so precious to me and I just can't risk anything happening to you." Pitch murmured, planting a tender kiss upon the platinum blonde's forehead lovingly.

Everybody has fears, strong and weak, sometimes they even control you no matter what you do.
