Aftermath
Disclaimer: I do not own Star Trek or Spock I wish I could though.
This takes place just after 'Requiem for Methuselah'
Jim Kirk strode onto the bridge as if nothing had happened. The dark circles under his eyes were lessoned. Overall he looked better.
Bones turned to greet his friend. " So, you got over Rayna, did you?"
Jim's eyebrows furrowed. " Rayna? Oh yes, the android." He said unemotionally.
Bones eyes widened. " Are you okay?"
" Fine, why?"
" You loved Rayna, you normally don't get over this sort of thing without"- He stopped suddenly and turned to the empty science station.
"Spock I'm gonna kill you!" He yelled suddenly, he turned and ran to the turbolift, muttering under his breath as he did so.
Spock felt miserable.
Emotionally and physically. He had been the last person to get the Rigellian Fever. He'd thought that it was nothing serious for the first six hours, after that he'd managed to stumble to sickbay, which (thankfully) was just down the hall. He was no longer in the grips of death, but he was tired and still had a slight fever. Bones sent him back to his room so that he wouldn't sweat the medical staff out of sickbay. His sinuses were clogged as well, making it difficult to breathe.
" SPOCK! Let me in!"
" Enter." Spock said, even with the nasal tone to his voice, it was very clear.
Bones stormed in. " You made him forget, didn't you?"
" Yes, I did." Spock said simply, writing something into a data PADD.
" Why?"
" Because, all of us wanted to forget."
" What, you didn't do that with Edith."
" I knew then that Jim would deal with it. Now, he was not."
Bones sputtered. His face relaxed a little. " You're right. He wasn't, but you shouldn't have done it without his permission."
Spock sneezed. " I realize that now, but it was either that, or me taking over"- he sneezed again.
" Feeling any better?"
" No, if anything I am worse."
Bones humphed. "Figures that you would be the last to get the Fever, but still."
Spock coughed a little; to tired to really care, he set the data PADD down and stood up.
" Doctor, as you said yourself. I am tired and need rest. I apologize if I don't show to the door."
"It's fine Spock, but please, next time tell me what yer doin' before ya do it."
Spock nodded. "I will inform you ahead of time." He entered his alcove, which he used for the bedroom.
The Doctor left, Spock smiled a little to himself. Maybe, just maybe he could get the Doctor to see that Vulcans weren't as emotionless as everyone thought.
