Title: the green eyed monster
Pairing: Laxus x Lucy
Sum: Laxus had never really felt jealousy before, then he fell in love with Lucy.
Notes: Never written them before, but I just had the urge to write this little drablet. So I did. Sorry if it's OOC.
Laxus glowered at the group of mages, irritation bubbling inside of him.
Lucy laughed at something Natsu said and rested her hand on his shoulder and the irritation thickened into anger. He felt a twitch begin somewhere near his left eye and his teeth ground together. It only got worse when Gray appeared, his shirt nowhere to be seen.
"Have some decency," he snarled, lightning crackling up his arm.
"You're leaving scorch marks on the table," Evergreen said, gracefully falling into the seat across from him and tapping the table with a finger tip. She was looking as gorgeous as usual, everything from the roots of her hair to the tips of her toes looking perfect. And he knew it was all for one man.
"He's not here right now," Laxus commented, smirking at her indignant pout. "He went on a family bonding trip with Mirajane and Lisanna."
"I wasn't looking for him." She flicked her hair over her shoulder dismissively, but he didn't miss the slight slump to her shoulders at the news.
Laxus turned his attention back to Lucy and scowled when he saw Natsu throw his arms around her. He wanted to storm down there and drag her away from the boys that didn't know what boundaries were.
"Someone's looking a little jealous," Ever sang and he turned his scowl to her. She glanced down at the group and gave a very unlady like snort. "I never thought I'd see the day that you were jealous of Natsu."
"I'm not jealous."
"Oh? Then what do you call it."
He ground his teeth, but didn't answer. It was jealousy and he knew it and it annoyed him.
Lucy was his. He was the only one that should see her smile like that, the only one that could hear her laugh so freely. And he most certainly was the only one allowed to touch her like that.
He released a low growl when he saw Natsu's hands on her breasts, and the only thing that kept him from leaping over the railing and pummeling his face in was that they were only there for a second before Lucy punched him in the face.
That's my girl.
He grinned proudly and suddenly found himself staring into the wide brown eyes he knew so well. Maybe she'd felt him staring, or maybe she'd just had the desire to look up, to see him, but either way something that could almost be considered a blush spread across his cheeks. And then she smiled. It was just a small upturning of lips, but it was a smile nonetheless.
A smile just for him.
And that smile soothed the dragon in him. It assured him that he wasn't forgotten, even when she was surrounded by her friends. It replaced the sting of jealousy with the warmth of love.
But he was still going to punch Natsu in the face.
It was only fair.
