The New Leader

"It was the best of times it was the worst of times. It was the spring of hope. It was the winter of despair" Ginny sat in her room reading Charles Dicken's A Tale of Two Cities which Hermione had lent her the last time they had seen each other.

That had been almost two months ago when Lord Voldermort had taken over he decreed that all "mudbloods" give up the use of magic any found breaking the law would be sent to Azkaban or killed on the spot. Two months earlier Ron had left for America to rally witches and wizards to their cause to prevent Voldermort from taking control of any other country. Other members of the order and Dumbledore's Army had gone to other countries on similar missions. When he left Hermione when t with him. But no one had heard from either of them since they left and people, especially Molly were beginning to get worried.

It was odd, none of the members of the Order or the DA were imprisoned or killed except for those who were involved in rebellions after Voldermort had taken over. In fact Lord Voldermort had done almost nothing to the members of either group, except make it hard for them to get and keep a job. Many people worried that this was just a ploy to lure the members into a false sense of safety. Though Ginny agreed with those who thought that Voldermort had alterior motives she didn't see didn't see the point of worrying about something she couldn't stop anyway.

So she kept reading in her room never suspecting what was lurking just around the corner.

"Ginny dear, the post has just arrived and you have a letter." Molly called up the stairs.

"Coming Mum"

Ginny walked down the stairs and grabbed her letter off the kitchen counter. She looked around and saw her mother making lunch and her father reading the Prophet which had just arrived. The letter was from Luna complaining that now that school was over she had nothing to do and that she missed hanging out with the DA. Ginny sighed, she agreed but meeting with a group of DA members was a dangerous thing to do now a days. She wrote a reply and sent it off then she sat across from her dad and grabbed the section of the paper where all new laws and decrees were published.

"I can't believe he would do this!"

So that was the first chapter. The story is still a complete work in progress and I haven't even completely decided on pairing(s) so please review with any requests you may have. Please read and review.
