Luna had been skipping about in the corridors after she had left the Great Hall for breakfast, that morning. Humming to herself, she closed her eyes, hugging her Astronomy textbook close to her chest. As she heard the first chime, declaring breakfast over, she opened her eyes, watching as the corridor suddenly began to flood with students. She stepped backwards as a second year was shoved into her, so that he could pass without further injury. Luna seemed to be focusing closely on someone, or something, when in reality, she was merely allowing herself to be enveloped in her own, dreamy world.
Softly whispering to herself, her legs began to mindlessly carry her towards the Astronomy Tower. Without knowing, she was ascending the Astronomy staircase and slowly making her way to class. Soon enough, she was snapping out of her trance-like state, and looking around herself to find herself surrounded by walls on both sides. Knowing she was going to be late even if she had chosen to run, she merely hummed quietly once more as she dragged her fingertips lightly across the cold, rough cemented walls encasing her.
Eventually, she found herself pulling open the Astronomy door and slipping into the classroom quietly. As it clicked into place, louder than she would have liked, the majority of the classroom moved their gazes to her, instantly. She smiled softly at them, and opened her mouth to say 'hello', when her Professor strode across the room to her. "You're late, again, Ms. Lovegood. Ten points from Ravencl-" she began to say before Luna cut through.
"Hello, Professor Sinistra," she started, in her dreamiest of tones. She looked up at her Professor, her eyes wide and her face serious. "I blame the Wrackspurts."
When her Professor stared back at her in confusion, Luna blinked before smiling warmly up at her, crossing the room to her seat next to a blonde-haired Hufflepuff whom she had yet to learn the name of.
