They don't know each other, they have never met (not in this life) but somehow it's a given that they'll be humming together the same tune forever after. And even after that.

Imagine if you will

A girl. She is leaning against the metal balustrade of the official looking stairs of an official looking building. Under her breath, she hums a song she has never composed herself, but has known since conception (or before). It's a song unheard of in the radio, on television, on websites, by musicians, composers. Indeed, if you were to ask anyone on Earth what tune it was, no one would've known.

Well, no one but two.

Imagine if you will, a boy. He is in no particular hurry, but his feet are moving fast. Imagine him as he walks past the official looking stairs of an official looking building, and then hears a hummed-under-a-breath tune. It draws itself out from among the sounds of commuters, bustlers, and on-the-goers. He's never in his life (his whole life) heard that song, and yet, there's a clarity in that moment and his soul remembers every note. There's a clarity in that moment and his soul remembers. Period.

Imagine the girl as she stops her humming and looks at a message on her phone. It's time to leave. She straightens from the rail and walks, resuming her hum.

Imagine a boy as he turns and sees a head of silver hair.

Imagine his soul fill, then shrink, then shiver, then breathe.

Imagine him just confusedly staring.

He runs towards the head of silver hair, a hand already out to reach for her shoulder. And here he is asking, what the hell am I doing? But somewhere deep in him, it's a different matter, because in a place sleeping dormant, something stirs. It feels like triumph and it's saying something different.

I found you.
