After spending yet another meal time staring at lily, James finished up his pudding and left the great hall to get ready for his head-boy duty's later.

On the way he was again thinking about how best to get her under the mistletoe. "Maybe I could plant some in a corridor we have to check tonight and hide under it! Wait, no she would know then...uummm I could use the map to find her and casually walk into her under one...no, that wouldn't work either. Maybe I could..." and on and on he went till he reached Gryffindor tower.

Lily finished dinner early and head to the library to finish her homework on glamour charms. She would have had a proper dinner and done it later but she was on duty tonight with him. So it was now or never.

But unusually her mind was far from her homework and much more aligned with someone else's thoughts in these walls. "Maybe I could make a distraction and fall into him under the mistletoe on the third floor stairs and act really angry about it... yeah that might work..."

On his way to the library where he was to meet lily and start there shift he was still trying to figure the best to get her under the mistletoe when he suddenly ran into something solid and he's well as the what-ever-it-was were sprawled over the ground. The solid thing was lily.

"Lily, I'm sorry I didn't see you..." He started before he was cut off suddenly by lily; she had wrapped her arms around his neck and started kissing him.

After a few moments of shock James threw his arms around her waist and enthusiastically started to kiss her back.

Eventually, when they could no longer breathe the pulled apart and James stared at her questioningly.

She simply pointed upwards before turning and walking away.

He looked up and saw they were under mistletoe. " This must be my lucky day" he muttered to himself and turned back to continue they way he was going only to run into filch and land a weeks' worth of detentions.
