Hello there! -waves- This is my first fanfiction that I've posted up so yeah... hope you like it? -;; -terrified-
Read and Review please!
Her youth drew him to her.
She was so childish, so naive, so innocent.
She was energetic, loud, nosy, curious, annoying.
But most of all, she was confident.
She didn't think she was the Great Ninja Yuffie. She was the Great Ninja Yuffie.
She didn't think that all the materia in the world belonged to her. She knew it did.
Why? Because that was just how it was.
And that's what made him start to care.
---
Her maturity intrigued him.
She was strong, she was a leader. She was helpful and kind and understood life much more than anyone gave her credit for. She was reliable and - scarily - responsible.
But most of all, she wasn't ashamed.
She reached out to her friends, because dammit she needed them and she didn't care who knew it.
She laughed out loud, never trying to hide her joy because she knew, she just knew, that laughter most assuredly was the best medicine but you couldn't give it to yourself, you needed someone else to help you out.
She cared.
She cared and she didn't try to hide it. She wasn't ashamed and she'd be damned if she was afraid to show it.
---
Her - just her - made him ache with want.
She could barely look after Denzel for 5 minutes without helping him to cause some kind of explosion, but she so effortlessly destroyed his brooding, icy demeanor.
Those small smiles that tugged at his lips whenever she beamed his way.
The tiny chuckle of laughter he surprised himself with at her ramblings that made no sense because not only were half the words she came up just plain nonsense but because she spoke so fast.
The fact that he hadn't yet left…
Nearly a year after Sephiroth was destroyed - again - and he was still there.
---
Her whole person mystified him.
He admitted to himself, eventually, at some indecent hour of the night when everyone else was asleep, that she had changed him without trying.
For the first time in what seemed like forever, he admitted that he needed someone.
He needed her .
