Just a short little Mikerine oneshot. Set in season 6.

Katherine Delfino is sitting in bed, looking at Mike, wondering how things had gotten so bad between them. They had only been married for about two months and already she was cheating on him. She didn't feel that bad about it because she was sure he was cheating on her with his ex wife. When they had gotten together, she didn't think they would end up like this. They didn't like spending more than five minutes in each others company, they hadn't had sex (together) in over a month, they were lucky to still be sleeping in the same bed, they didn't talk to each other, and they simply didn't care. At least that's what they both thought.

"What are you staring at?" Mike asked with his eyes still closed, startling Katherine.

"Nothing," She said shyly and turned her head so she was looking straight ahead.

"Surely it was something; I could practically hear your brain pounding from thought." His voice had a hint of annoyance in it and Katherine could hear it.

"I was just wondering how we got to be like this." She looked down and played with her hands. The last thing she wanted right now was another fight.

"When you started spreading your legs for Karl," He answered in a duh tone.

She whipped her head around to face him, "Hey, don't blame this all on me. You haven't exactly been a model husband."

"I never said I was, but you were the one who started all this crap." He rolled his eyes, all he wanted was to go back to bed, but he never could shut her up once she started rambling on.

"Excuse me, but you're the one who made out with your ex-wife on our wedding day!" Katherine was not about to take the blame. Sure, she had done some wrong, but she wasn't the one who started it.

He finally turned to look at her, "Why don't we just get divorced then?" She'd been waiting for him to say something along those lines, but it took her by surprise.

"Is that what you really want?" She asked him as they finally made eye contact.

"I don't know what I want, Katherine. All I know is that I'm so unhappy and I can't keep living like this." He told her, honestly.

"Then why don't we fix things between us." She offered.

"How, things have gotten so bad, I don't see us ever going back." He said.

"First thing we need to do is stop seeing Susan and Karl; become 100% committed to each other. I know it's going to take a lot of work to get this back on track, but I'm willing to do it if you are." She looked to him, tears starting to form in her eyes. She wanted this so bad.

"I do want this, honey." He leaned over and kissed her.

From that moment on they spent the rest of their days kissing only each other.
