People say you can read a person's emotions in their eyes.
When Neji looks at Sasuke's eyes, all he sees is the red and black of the Sharingan, eager for battle.
When Sasuke looks at Neji's eyes, he sees the blank, pale grey stare of the Byakugan, anticipating the coming fight, and ready.
Most of the time, anyway.
Once, when Neji looked at Sasuke's eyes, they were dark. They did not hold the red light he was accustomed to. It was something akin to want, something halfway between full-blown desire and idle fancy.
Neji's eyes sometimes look like that too.
