The Fates must hate me! Why else would they let me fall for James Potter? It's not like anything truly good comes from James and I being romantically involved! I am engaged to Lucius Malfoy and even though I had no say in the matter, and even though James makes me feel extremely happy, I do not currently intend to cancel the wedding. If I broke off the engagement, my Mother and Father would disown me.
I refuse to be disowned by them. One could easily argue that I'm risking being disowned by my family, just by being in a relationship with James Potter. Anyway, Lucius treats me well. There are men that are far worse than Lucius Malfoy. I have been told by Bellatrix that I could cause immeasurable harm to my reputation by refusing to marry Lucius but if she knew what I was doing now… I think that she would actually murder me.
Would I leave my family behind for James Potter? He seems to love me. I… don't know and I think that even as James lays fervent kisses gently down my jaw, that he slowly realizes that I am uncertain… about everything. Lucius makes me feel like an asset that he simply refuses to give away but James makes me feel loved. If Lucius knew of the compromising situation that I was eagerly experiencing, he would make sure that I was publically disgraced without a second thought.
James Potter would never let the wolves devour me but Lucius Malfoy would.
"Do you love me," I breathlessly ask the occupied raven haired boy.
"With all… of my… heart," James vows between the kisses that he gently lays even lower down my neck.
"If I broke my engagement with Malfoy, my parents would pull me out of school and would force me to marry him," I absentmindedly warn before his mouth descends upon mine.
It takes him a while to respond to my warning, but I don't mind because snogging James Potter is quite an enjoyable experience.
"They can't legally retrieve a married woman," James finally hints with a wicked grin.
"Then," I confidently begin, "let's get married."
The distracting kisses momentarily end.
"Do you really mean what I think you mean?"
I slowly nod.
A wide grin spreads across his face.
"Is that a no," I coyly ask him as I run my fingers gently down his bare back.
"No! Definitely not-I mean, let's get married tonight," he blurts out.
I happily laugh, "I will want a more public wedding later."
"All right, but let's get married tonight."
I happily grin at him. I am finally going to get my happy ending.
