So, here is the sequel to my first story, Danger. I know it's been quite awhile since I wrote that story, and I am hoping that you guys are still interested in reading it. This starts off in Booth's POV, and starts directly where the original story left off.
She had finally woken up. He had never been happier than he was at this moment, as he stared into his girlfriend's eyes.
She had been in a coma for the past month, and it had scared him. For a while, he had thought that he might lose her, and it killed him. He could not lose her, and it scared him to think of how close he had come to just that.
He could see that she wanted to say something, but was unable to because of the tube that had been stuck down her throat, and realized that he should press the nurse call button.
He was shooed out as the doctors went in and performed some tests on her and removed some of the machines that she was on. He simply stood there, worried, before he was finally allowed to go back and see her.
She was sleeping when he went back into her room, and, as much as he wanted to hear her voice, he decided to let her sleep.
Instead, he sat there and studied her. They had taken the breathing tube out, and it looked like there were less wires. He was still worried, as there had been some scares, even within the last week, that her heart might stop, or something similar. He wasn't quite sure, as he had a hard time understanding the squint speak that the doctors had explained her injuries to him in.
He watched her sleep, and payed special attention to the rise and fall of her chest. He needed that proof that she was alive, that proof that he had not lost her this time.
About fifteen minutes after he was allowed back into her room, a doctor came in to explain her condition. There didn't seem to be any memory loss, or any lasting neurological effects, but her stitches were still healing from her surgery, which had been performed because of the damage to her skull. Many of her other injuries had not healed yet, either.
It was going to be a long road, but he would not leave her. He would stay with her no matter the hardships.
I know that it has been a long time since I posted the prequel to this story. Constructive criticism and other comments, but no flames, please. It has been a while since I have gotten "judged" on my work, and so, if you have any, please leave any tips on writing or how you would like the story to progress. I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and will post the next as soon as possible.
