Hey guys.
I'm so sorry about not being on here for the last couple of months. My parents found my account and deleted all the stories, but I managed to save two of them but sadly Dead Drunk was gone.
I did start a story about Skulduggery's wife and child, but that went, so I thought I could start a new one.
Just before I start I'll just explain a few back round things. I'm taking it that Skulduggery and Ghastly went to school together. For the first couple of chapters they'll be the only members of the Dead Men appearing, but the rest will be joining soon.
Ok, here's the first chapter!
Enjoy.
Chapter 1
The news rippled through the school like a tidal wave.
He was coming. The one who people either hated, or loved. The hero of others, the arch enemy of some.
Only three students were seemingly unaffected by the news. Skulduggery Pleasant and Ghastly Bespoke's parents were his main military advisers and so they already knew months before. The other was a girl in their year.
In fact, she and Skulduggery Pleasant were known throughout the school to dislike each other immensely.
That, was an understatement.
Many in the school insulted Eachan Meritorious.
But she never defended him.
In Skulduggery's mind, that was unforgivable.
You see, in those days, it was a unspoken rule in society, that if one member of your family is insulted, the entire honour of your family is at stake.
The rule was no different between a father and his daughter.
Yet, even Skulduggery Pleasant could not see through closed doors. He could not see inside that girls heart and the pain, the greatest pain of all that a daughter can suffer.
The pain of knowing that a fathers love for his daughter is indeed, conditional.
He fought for her father's honour. Not hers.
She didn't care what he thought.
She knew.
She knew the monster which her father hid so effectively in front of his men.
It was her burden, and hers alone to carry.
The truth.
The truth. she could not tell anyone. her father was their leader, the only one who stood against Mevolent. The only one.
What she feared the most, was not death, or torture.
Just the fact that the monster which was inside her father, could be inside her too.
The moment he first hit her, she made a choice. A choice never to allow herself to love. Or to be loved.
If she knew the future. Would she have changed her later decision. The one which allowed some one in. To see the pain and the anger?
Who knew.
But at the moment, she bore the secret of her father. One she should never of had to bear alone.
That her father, was just as much a drunken monster as much as he was a hero.
Thanks for reading this first chapter guys!
I know it was a tad dismal, but trust me, the next chapter will have more going on.
If you have any ideas or requests, please feel free to say, I'm happy to do anything.
