I love her. Yes, you heard right. I love her. I love Mia Koji. But I just can't admit it to her. I, leader to the Ronin Warriors, can't tell a girl - and such a helpful and beautiful one at that - how much she means to me. Besides...I think she likes Sage. Or at least, he likes her, too.
I watch her as she lies back on couch reading her book. But then she spots this and looks up at me.
"Something wrong, Ryo?"
Her question catches me by surprise. I didn't expect her to catch me staring. "Uh..." I blush slightly. What could I say? She just chuckles and goes back to reading. Whew...close call.
Soon, it's mealtime. And Mia had made us some fresh bread and sandwiches - delicious. I wonder if any of the guys know of my feelings for her. I'm almost certain they do. We're so close, it's almost like we can read each others minds when we look into each others eyes when talking. Between me and the guys, that is.
Anyway, after lunch, I go to gather my courage once more to tell her how I feel. I find her sitting at her laptop doing more research. Most likely on our armors; She may not be a fighter like us, but we do still consider her – and Yuli for that matter – a part of our team. If it weren't for that, we'd still be lost.
I clear my throat softly as I walk up to her. "Um…Mia?" She stops writing to look over at me and I feel my heart skip a beat. "U-uh, what are you doing?" Smooth, Sanada. Real smooth…Gosh, I feel like an idiot!
"Just some more stuff about your armors. You know how curious I am and I want to know all I can about them!" she smiles, her eyes sparkling like the ocean blue on a sunny day. She didn't seem to notice my blunder and was surprisingly calm. Unlike me - the so-called fearless leader of the Ronin Warriors…
"Y-yeah…" Here goes nothing. "Listen, Mia, there's something…I need to talk to you about…"
"Oh? Well, what is it?"
At hearing this question, I immediately swallow the lump in my throat, before trying to continue on. "I think I may have…feelings for you…"
There's a sudden quiet to the room as her fingers stop hitting the keys on the keyboard. And for awhile, I thought I'd said something wrong. Had I really upset her? "…Mia…?"
She turns to face me and I gasp, seeing tears to her cheeks. 'Oh, no…I did make her mad!' But to my surprise, she doesn't run away. She slowly gets up and makes her way towards me. I shut my tiger blue eyes tightly as I brace myself for a slap in the face. Instead, they snap open and widen as I feel her soft lips brush mine. Then she pulls away for only a moment.
"I love you, too…Ryo Sanada…"
"What? How did you…I thought you and Sage – "
"Sure I like Sage. But you're the one I fell for first. Please, just give me a chance to try…"Tiger Eyes"."
I blush at the nickname before we both lean in and kiss again.
My name is Ryo Sanada. I'm the bearer of the Wildfire armor. And this was the element of Fire…The Fire of Love…
