Obligatory Disclaimer: Harvest Moon still isn't mine…
Author's Note: Because Rock/Lumina is amusing. XD
And sort of based on a cut-scene or two, nya.
Errands"Pleeeease, Lumina?"
The short girl sighed as her friend Rock begged for the millionth time. She was supposed to be running errands, and the blond man had spotted her on his way out of the Inner Inn.
"But Rock," she protested yet again. "I told you, I have to go pick up some milk from Jill for Auntie Romana. I can go for a walk with you later—"
"Aw, come on," Rock pleaded. "It'll be fun. Can't you get Jill to bring it over?"
"Actually, I was just about to."
Rock and Lumina both jumped as the brunette farmer jogged over to them, carrying a few bottles of milk. Lumina gasped.
"I'm sorry, Jill! I'll take them the rest of the way!" she apologized.
"You're so serious, Lumina," Rock grinned.
"Yeah, I really don't mind…" Jill started as Lumina took the bottles.
"Oh, um, no, I'll just be going!" Lumina cried, carefully carrying the milk back to the mansion.
"Lumina…" Rock whined, but the girl heard him turn to Jill momentarily and ask slyly, "Hey, do you wanna go with me instead?"
"Are you hitting on me?" Jill demanded.
Lumina groaned as their voices began to fade away. Rock could be so childish! But at least hanging out with him was never boring…
Later that day, Lumina was heading back to Jill's to pick up a few tomatoes. Normally she would've wanted to get everything at once, but Jill had wanted to go back and slice up the tomatoes, since Romana's arthritis in her hands was acting up.
"Hey, Lumina!"
Rock exited the Blue Bar as Lumina passed by. She smiled and waved to him.
"Hi, Rock!"
"So," Rock said, sidling up to her. "You're not still busy, are you?"
"Well, yes, but—"
"Lumina!" Rock threw his hands in the air. "You're always busy!"
"I guess," Lumina sighed. She knew helping her grandmother should come first, but Rock had a way of making her feel guilty…
"This morning, you said you'd come with me," Rock went on, pouting.
"I know, I know, but—"
"But I wanted to take you to the beach!" Rock insisted, taking her by the hand.
"All right," Lumina gave in. "But only for a few minutes, and—Rock, are you even listening to me?"
Rock paused before answering absently, "Of course."
"You are not listening to me!" Lumina accused as they reached the small shoreline.
"I…" Rock looked confused for once.
As Rock frowned, Lumina giggled. "You're acting like a little kid, Rock!"
"I-I am?"
Lumina took a few steps towards the shore. "Yeah! You're always so bored and hyper, but right now, you're being kind of selfish. But I guess I am too…"
Rock stepped toward her. "Nah, you're just being honest. I guess that's what I like about you."
"Really?" Lumina turned back to him, blushing. "Nobody's ever told me anything like that before! I don't know what to say!"
Rock winked, grinning mischievously. "You could always thank me and say you like me too."
Lumina laughed. "I like you too, Rock."
Up on the hill near the Inner Inn, Jill was passing by with a crate full of sliced tomatoes. As she looked towards the shore, she saw Rock and Lumina holding hands. Rock was talking animatedly and gesturing with his free hand, making Lumina giggle. Jill smiled. Doing a little extra delivery was worth it if it meant she got to see Rock getting Lumina to relax. The two seemed to perfectly match the expression "opposites attract," Jill thought, smile spreading as she hurried along.
