Keeping the Faith

Note: For all of you people wondering, I got the idea for this story after watching the movie…but the plot is nowhere close to the movie's…so keep reading!
::Chapter 1::
"What?!" The audible sound of clattering cutlery, dishes, and glasses rang throughout the Preventers' dining hall. "What?" Duo asked looking around at the shocked faces of his fellow Preventers. Heero eyed him strangely, "Duo…you just told us you're becoming a Catholic priest." Duo raised an eyebrow confused, "…and there's something wrong with that?" Wufei started choking and had to be whacked hard on the back by his fiancé Sally so he could talk again. "Maxwell, you've been calling yourself the frick'n Shinigami for the past 6 years and now your telling us you're going to be a priest!" Duo looked annoyed, "People if you haven't noticed, I'm a Catholic." Quatre, seeing that Duo was in a tight fix, spoke up. "Congratulations Duo, I'm behind you 100%!" Duo brightened up a bit, "Thanks Q-man, I knew I could count on you." "No…" Noin muttered quietly. Duo groaned, "Now what?" Noin stood up, "You can't resign, I won't allow it." "Why?" "Don't you realize we're on the very brim of war?! You saw the reports, you know yourself that we have a problem on our hands. That man on Earth, Voldovac was his name, will stop at nothing to try and start a war with the colonies." Duo slammed his fist on the table, "Noin, I've spent, no given my whole entire life to the people of Earth and the colonies. Never once have I thought about myself. Well this time I don't give a damn what the people want, I'm going solely with what my sole craves and needs." "But why now Duo? Can't you make your decision once this mission's over?" Une pleaded. Duo sighed, "I need repentance for all the sin and pain I've caused over the past 6 years. I need forgiveness and God's guidance, and I know very well that if I don't start now I'll never do it." Milliardo who had been sitting quietly next to Noin (and was clutching his wineglass very tightly to the point that it would probably shatter if anymore tension should be applied.) stood up angrily and in doing so knocked over his chair. "Duo if you, leave the world and it's people shall never forgive you for the pain you will and shall cause if you decide to resign. Now I'm not willing to let the chance of starting another endless and pointless war happen. I swear Duo, even if I have to injure you or tie you down, I will not let you leave. For the sake of the people Duo, just think about that." He said disgustingly and left the dining table. Duo looked extremely pissed off, and stormed out of the dining hall in the other direction. Everyone sighed and continued with their meal, everyone except Hilde who sat dejectedly in her seat. Duo, she thought, did you even think about me?
