It's odd. Being dead.
Things should feel different. I don't know what I was expecting; a chorus of angels, the grim reaper, "all the answers" pouring into my brain like soda into an empty plastic cup.
I just thought there would be something. Anything.
But nothing changed. I didn't feel different afterwards. I didn't even look different. One second my chest is hit so hard the wind rushes out of my mouth and everything goes black, the next my back is cold and I'm lying face-up on the ground.
Sure the new location was weird, but dead? There wasn't anything wrong with me, mostly.
My head was throbbing, my back was cold, and I felt like crap. But that was normal for my teenage existence. So it took awhile to… sort things out.
The bottom line was:
For five days, I had no idea I was dead.
"How is that possible?" you might ask. My eyes were green, I floated, disappeared, re-appeared, walked through walls, and was made of ectoplasm. Yet for five days I didn't know.
"How?"
Because my name was Danny Phantom.
