She always acted ohsojoyful.
(No one noticed how broken she was.)
Because she'd always thought they'd end up together.
(They seemed so idealhappyperfect.)
And she'd never thought he'd leave her, period.
But least of all, she'd never thought he'd leave her for Lily, with her redred hair and muddy-brown eyes. She'd never thought he'd leave her, fancy-shmancy Victoire, for plainjane Lily, her younger cousin.
When she'd found out about them, she'd been disgusted and shocked and angry, but most of all, hurt. It was practically incest, for Merlin's sake. And he's 11 years older than her. Eleven years. Disgusting. She'd thought scathingly. And she walked away with her blondeblonde hair (contradictory to hers) and ocean-blue eyes.
He'd left her, the epitome of perfect, the one who got all the attention, for Lily, the one who bungled things up and tripped practically every second.
(But then again, when had Teddy liked attention, anyway?)
Maybe, just maybe, he did fall for ordinary, plainjane Lily.
Maybe, just maybe, he didn't fall for faultless Vic, like everyone expected him to.
But she? She'd already fallenfallenfallen for him.
She'd taken his love for granted.
(For granted.)
And she knew she would nevereverever make the same mistake again.
(She would never love again.)
And so, she went back to being idealhappyperfect Victoire Weasley, except this time, it wasn't with Teddy.
She was Vic again.
The one without a broken heart.
(Just emptiness.)
