I've decided that I would re-write "Adjusting to Parenthood" for a few chapters to see which version I should continue, due to looking over the Original Version and deciding that it was a little bit crap and that the storyline wasn't very thought out properly enough.
I hope you guys can be patient, whilst I go through this story again and there will be a poll on my profile asking whether you want me to continue this or ditch it and resume the original one.
NOTE: Some elements of the Original Version will be mentioned in here, but hopefully I don't pull this story too much of track.
Disclaimer: I do not own Trauma Team or its characters.
PROLOGUE:
Following the footsteps of a Delphian.
One would assume that a good friend with a ten-year-old son should be able to provide even a miniscule amount of "parenting" advice, right?
Nope. Not at all. Nothing about that subject comes to his mind what so ever!
I can't say I'm not surprised; All he does nowadays is diagnose his patients, like an obedient dog should and slowly cross of each day that draws nearer to his retirement.
"Hey Naomi!" Alyssa delightfully exclaims, running towards her mother, "What are you up to?"
"Oh...Hello Alyssa." Naomi responds, scooping her daughter into a small hug, "I'm writing a...report about something."
"A report?" Alyssa asks, her voice peaking with interest, "Ooooo! Can I see?"
"...You probably shouldn't it's a patient report I have to fill out for the staff at Resurgam for them to add to their database." The medical examiner calmly explains. Alyssa's nose wrinkles up in disgust.
"Did you tell them that the hospital food's not very yummy...?" Alyssa nervously asks, fiddling with the hem of her dress. This causes Dr. Kimishima to chuckle at the question slightly.
"I guess I ought to add that." She chuckles, hugging her daughter once again, "Thank you Alyssa."
"You're welcome Naomi!" Alyssa chirps, "I'm really happy that we are back at home!" She adds, before skipping out of the room.
Gabe says I should hold my head high and be proud of myself if Alyssa wants to follow in my footsteps...
I hope that will never happen, as she is the bravest and most innocent girl I've ever met. Nothing like I was, when I was her age.
But still, if she ever was to learn of my past-
No! I shouldn't dabble in my memories of the past. What has been done has been done. Now I need to spend the remaining time I have left to atone for the sins I've committed.
I know this is shorter than the Original Version's Prologue, so there might not be much to go on, but if you could leave a review saying whether you loved it or hated it, then that would be greatly appreciated ^^
