I don't own anything.

He didn't know what was going on.

He knew the Dollars existed. After the war between the Yellow Scarves, or so he calls it, the Dollars were the only gang in Ikebukuro. Everything went back to normal after the Yellow Scarves disbanded.

And then a new gang appeared.

The boy went to school as normal. He would always take detours, looking for places where it was evident the Bartender had fought the Informant. It amused him, how the Informant still managed to survive the fights. He might be strong like the Bartender, but the boy wouldn't know. He heard from his friends to try not to mess with him, so he simply tried not to ever run into the man.

Eventually, it was time to go to school. Try as he might, he could never miss class. His mother would kill him if she ever got word of him skipping. Drawing pictures in his notebook (maybe the teacher should have a bigger nose...), he got a text. Curious, the boy opened it:

Would you like to join the Sirens?

It's really basic.

You don't have to do anything.

In fact, we do nothing.

Just call yourself a member, if asked.

That's it.

If you're in, e-mail the boss.

Don't ask questions. Just join.

Trust me. Trust us.

It'll be fun.

Are you in?

The Sirens? He looked over the information. It sounded close to the Dollars, except that they had a boss. Scrolling down, there was an e-mail address.

'Is this for real?' he thought. He blew it off; it was probably just some kid trying to start something up after the Yellow Scarves went away. Actually, the kid probably was a Yellow Scarf.

But the curiosity stayed with him through the rest of the day.

The boy rushed home after school, telling his friends that he was going to be busy that night ("Oooooh, did you find a chick? Tell me about it later!"). He entered his apartment, grabbed some snacks from the kitchen, and rushed to his desk.

The hum of the computer was heard as he waited for the hardware to turn on completely. He opened up an e-mail and started typing in questions. Is this real? Are you making this up? He kept typing in things he wanted answers to. He sent it.

He waited.

This felt like the longest five minutes in his life.

And then there was a reply.

He opened the e-mail. He got some answers, like how it was actually a real gang and the guy was really serious. It seems that they really don't do much, but try to get known. They have missions, but they're mainly things like recruiting members, or leaving signs to join them.

'The text was probably a member trying to recruit, then...' he thought. How the member got his number, he wasn't sure. He thought about any occurences where the Sirens might have left messages. The boy recalled some writing on the table in the cafeteria, but most of it was smudged. Once he thought about it, the words did match up, at least, the member that wrote it tried to remember the words and guessed at a few. He thought for a second.

Should he join?

Sure, it sounded like fun. Living a normal high school life was way too boring for him. However, what if this gang was secretly like the Yellow Scarves, terrorizing others. Him getting arrested for gang violence would be something he did not want on his record.

He ate some chips while he thought. He had to be sure; he didn't want to join and then back out.

A few days passed. Days went on as usual. The only difference is that instead of thinking about games he'd played recently and girls in class, he thought about the gang. The other gang. He was on his way hom when he had finally decided. He went to his computer and turned it on. He opened up an e-mail and typed in.

I would like to join the Sirens.

I am not too good at things like this. Please review.
