Elphaba curled up in the bed and cried. "Fiyero," she mumbled. "Fiyero, oh Fiyero." She repeated his name over and over. "Why, why couldn't you have listened to me? I told you to stay away." Elphaba felt the burning tears roll down her face but her body was responding. She couldn't wipe them away.
FLASHBACK
Elphaba lay under the covers of her blanket, waiting patiently for Fiyero to come. She heard the quick footsteps of Fiyero and watched him open the door.
"Hello," he said and Elphaba could tell he was grinning. He stepped out of the shadows and was already taking his clothes off.
"Good evening. You seem happy," Elphaba smiled. Her body already tingling. Having left him for a few days, she realized how much she missed him. His blue glittering diamonds, looked white in the moonlight.
"I always am when your around, Fae," he slipped in under the covers and nothing else was said.
END FLASHBACK
Her shoulder shook and she took a deep breath before crying again. "Yero, my hero! Why did you leave me," she whispered. "I love you. Come back."
FLASHBACK
"Do you love me?" Elphaba asked as she looked at Fiyero. Fiyero's hands were wrapped around her waist holding her tight.
"Why do you ask?" Fiyero replied and moved one of his hands up and down her spine.
"Just answer the question," Elphaba sighed. Fiyero took a long look at Elphaba and slowly he took a stray hair that was laying on her cheek and tucked it behind her ear. He leaned forward and whispered, "I love you more than my wife. But is it actually love, I'm not as sure about." He kissed her ear lovingly and breathed in her scent.
"But I hate it when you leave me for your missions. I hate being separated from you. I worry about if you're hurt or ill. But is that love? I'm not sure, not yet, but to be honest. I hope it is." He quickly kissed Elphaba's lips and she gave up, for now.
END FLASHBACK
Now he was gone, and she was never going to have him back, and it was all her fault. If only she didn't invite him back, if she had never given in to her need for him. He would be alive, but not hers. Not mine, but alive, Elphaba cried. He might not have been mine but he would have been alive. Still making a difference. Still be with his children and child wife. He would had a future, but I took that away from him.
"I'm sorry, Fiyero. I'm sorry!" Elphaba wailed. Her heart broke and would never be mended again.
A/N so how did you guys like it? Elphaba and Fiyero have to be one of my favorite couples just because they are so unique in stories nowadays. I'll probably create one for the play when I see it in June. Can't wait! Just a fun fact I wrote this entire chapter listening to the Wicked soundtrack and right now its on Defying Gravity, at my favorite part. Review!
I'm defying gravity, and no one is going to bring me down!
