hi there! it's been around two years my last fic, don't you think? anyway, here i am, giving you a levi/hanji zoe one. this is also on my tumblr, but i've decided to share it with you here on as well. beta read by ChocolateFantasies of (yetanotherrabidfangirl on tumblr).
Levi sits in his office, doing some paperwork. His eyes focus on the window to his right. Drops of rain fall from the skies and hit the ground with a pitter-patter sound. It makes a lovely type of background noise, quite soothing and pleasant to hear while doing work. In truth, the corporal loves the rain, but—
He shivers a little. Damn, he thinks. It's cold.
Even though he is already wearing the soldier's uniform, he still cannot beat the low temperature of the environment. it was one thing that he can't admit, really, his vulnerability to cold temperatures. No one in the Scouting Legion knows it. Not even Irwin.
The Lance Corporal pushes back his chair and stands up. He returns the chair neatly to its place. Slowly, he makes his way to the door, then heads down to the pantry. Hands reach for the little jars on the wooden shelf. Gingerly, he opens one, and scoops a teaspoon of coffee into his white porcelain cup. Next comes the sugar, then the creamer. Steaming hot water flows from the thermos, into the cup. His metal spoon clinks at he stirs the mixture; the delicious aroma rises from his coffee. Taking a seat, Levi slowly sips the liquid. It is delicious and warm. sweet, just how he likes it, and flavorful, yet still not enough to heat him up. he brings his arms up to hug himself, in the hope that he would warm up a bit.
As he is in that kind of position—he thinks it looks weird, it makes him look weak, he says—Hanji walks in.
"Levi?" she asks. "What are you doing?"
Abruptly, he puts down his arms and his hands make their way to the coffee cup. "Nothing, Glasses. Why do you ask?"
The corners of her mouth lift to form a smile. "Are you cold?"
"No," he sternly answers, but certainly, he was lying.
"After all the years I've spent experimenting and observing the world," Hanji says, "I can tell that you are cold, Levi."
Levi's steel gray eyes coldly stare at his subordinate. the pitter-patter sound grows louder; the raindrops hit the ground harder. Lance Corporal Levi brings the cup to his lips and drinks the coffee.
"Aw, come on," the scientist tells him. "You need a hug, don't you."
"I told you, I don't need a fu—!"
The brunette cuts him off by wrapping her arms around his body. Hanji leans in closer to the corporal. "Your hair smells good," commented the woman. "Like vanilla. I like that."
"Mhmm." is all that he can say. Heat forms on his rose-tinted cheeks.
"You're getting warmer!" she exclaims. "I knew a hug would work."
So the two members of the Scouting Legion stay there in loving embrace. In Hanji Zoe's loving embrace.
The brunette breaks away from her shorter colleague. "Well, I have to go back to Sawney and bean now," she says. "I wonder how they're doing?"
"Yeah, go tend to your 'Titan Babies'," quips the corporal. Hanji just smiles.
end.
